“You bunch of useless fools! How dare you abandon my daughter and run away?!”
Mo Tianxing slammed the table abruptly, causing the teacup to topple and spill tea over the battle map.
The air in the command center froze instantly.
“Old Mo, calm down,” an elder commander with a distinguished rank said in a deep voice. “We’ve already dispatched a reconnaissance team and will confirm the situation as soon as possible.”
Mo Tianxing’s chest heaved violently, but he forced himself to regain composure quickly.
He slowly sat back down, his voice icy cold:
“Have you confirmed Li Hang’s identity?”
The officer hurriedly nodded, “It’s confirmed… Li Hang is 26, works at a financial company, has trained in martial arts for several years, and his parents are CEOs of a publicly listed company in Donghai City. Relying on that background, he often targets women with strong family connections. Miss Mo was one of them before the apocalypse…”
Mo Tianxing’s gaze darkened sharply.
Damn it! So, he’s a playboy!
Just wait… if I catch you, I’ll make you wish you were dead!
“There’s one more thing,” the officer hesitated before lowering his voice, “According to our intelligence gathered over the past two days, the armed forces at the Cloud Villa are… very unusual.”
“Unusual?”
“Their equipment and tactical proficiency don’t resemble any civilian group. They seem more like…” the officer paused, lowering his voice further, “a special forces unit.”
Mo Tianxing narrowed his eyes, “Do we know their unit designation?”
“No,” the officer shook his head. “But something strange—someone among them mentioned ‘Snow Leopard.’”
“Snow Leopard?” The elder commander frowned. “There’s no special forces unit by that name in the country.”
“That’s right,” the officer nodded. “So we suspect it might be a secret unit or… private militia.”
Mo Tianxing tapped his fingers lightly on the table, his eyes deep in thought.
Private militia?
To have established such a sizable military force so early in the apocalypse?
The owner of this ‘Cloud Villa’ is no ordinary person.
“Continue reconnaissance,” Mo Tianxing ordered coldly. “But remember—don’t alert them.”
“Yes, sir!”
The officer saluted and withdrew. The command center fell silent again.
Mo Tianxing stared out into the pitch-black night sky, a resolute gleam flashing in his eyes.
No matter who they are… if they dare touch his daughter, they will pay the price!
…
9:00 PM, inside the Cloud Villa’s operations room.
[Beep! Detected Marshal’s forces have killed 3,201 zombies. Reward calculation initiated.]
[Beep! Congratulations! You have earned 3,201 merit points and 1 blueprint for a modern military truck.]
Lin Ye raised an eyebrow and immediately pulled up the system interface to view the details.

“Excellent!” Satisfaction flickered in Lin Ye’s eyes.
This truck comes at the perfect time!
Although the infantry squad advances quickly, logistics and transport have always been a bottleneck.
With these military trucks, not only can troops be rapidly mobilized, but supply lines can be established, laying the groundwork for further expansion!
Knock, knock, knock—!
There was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
Chen Feng pushed the door open, saluted, and reported gravely, “Marshal, the interrogation results are in. The government military squad’s target was indeed the daughter of Donghai’s richest man, Mo Tianxing—Mo Youxue. One of the two women we’re detaining is her.”
“Oh?” Lin Ye narrowed his eyes slightly. “A businessman able to deploy armed government helicopters? It seems this ‘rich man’ isn’t as simple as he appears.”
“Yes, Marshal,” Chen Feng’s expression grew serious. “I’m afraid we’re in trouble.”
Lin Ye furrowed his brows.
Indeed, trouble.
Though the current strength of the government forces is uncertain, even a weakened camel is bigger than a horse.
If they’re determined to retaliate, a few heavy artillery pieces or more armed helicopters would be enough to cause serious trouble.
However—
“There are tens of millions of zombies in Donghai City. Even if they want to come, it’s not certain they can get through,” Lin Ye sneered. “Besides, their daughter is in our hands now.”
Still, the gap in strength made him feel a sense of urgency.
They must accelerate their expansion!
“Has tomorrow’s operation plan been finalized?” Lin Ye turned toward the electronic map.
Chen Feng immediately stepped forward and pulled up the tactical interface. “Based on the progress over the past two days, the area within 700 meters around the villa has been mostly cleared.
“But due to limited manpower, we only established defensive lines to the east and south.”
He pointed to two red dots in the northwest corner. “At 8 a.m. tomorrow, I will send an infantry squad to clear two newly appeared zombie clusters here.”
His finger slid to a large building marked with a red circle.
“The key target is here: the Yida Shopping Mall.”
Lin Ye stared at the map. “What are the difficulties?”
“Three major issues,” Chen Feng held up three fingers. “First, the mall covers over a million square meters, with three levels: commercial area, food street, and entertainment zone. Clearing it will be extremely challenging.”
“Second, according to drone reconnaissance, there are estimated tens of thousands of zombies inside, requiring heavy fire support.”
“Third—” he paused, “there are likely many survivors inside. If we use cloud bombs to clear it directly…”
Lin Ye understood his concern.
In such an enclosed environment, one cloud bomb could wipe out most zombies,
But the survivors inside would be roasted by the high-temperature shockwave!
“Conduct precise reconnaissance first,” Lin Ye decided. “Tomorrow, the Snow Leopard assault team will use thermal imagers to prioritize confirming survivor locations.”
“Yes, sir!” Chen Feng stood at attention. “Also, should we… deal with Mo Youxue?”
Lin Ye shook his head. “No, she’s a valuable asset now. Go prepare. I want a detailed operation plan by 6 a.m. tomorrow.”
After Chen Feng left, Lin Ye stood by the window, gazing at the dark silhouette of the city in the distance.
The Yida Shopping Mall will be a brutal battle.
But once it’s taken,

the territory of Dawn Base will triple instantly!
...
In the underground parking garage, darkness was thick as ink.
Mo Youxue and An Ruoran huddled in a cold corner, the damp chill seeping through their thin clothes to their bones.
An Ruoran’s face was deathly pale, her cracked lips trembling slightly, looking like a lifeless doll.
“Ruoran, hang on a little longer…” Mo Youxue forced herself to stay strong, gently clutching her friend’s icy hand. “Dad will find a way.”
An Ruoran nodded blankly, her eyes vacant.
The news of her father’s infection had shattered her will completely.
“Miss Mo,” Officer Liu Ming lowered his voice, “don’t worry too much. The troops won’t abandon us.”
No sooner had he spoken than heavy footsteps echoed from afar…
“Tap, tap, tap…”
Everyone’s breath froze in an instant.
In the darkness, two shadowy figures stopped fifty meters away, dropped two large crates with a loud thud, then turned and left.
The garage gate closed again, leaving only silence.
“What’s going on?” Liu Ming narrowed his eyes warily. “Xiao Zhang, go check.”
A tall team member crawled forward cautiously and carefully opened a crate lid—
“Captain! It’s food and water!”
“What?!” Liu Ming’s pupils contracted sharply. “Are you sure?”
“Absolutely!” The team member’s voice trembled with excitement. “Ham sausages, bread, mineral water… also chicken breasts and compressed biscuits!”
The garage erupted in commotion.
Some salivated and crawled forward but were sharply ordered back by Liu Ming, “Everyone, stay put!”
“Captain, could it be poisoned?” a soldier whispered. “Why would they be so kind?”
Liu Ming stared at the two crates, frowning deeply.
Logic told him that if they wanted to kill them, one bullet would suffice. There was no need to waste valuable supplies by poisoning them.
“Distribute to Miss Mo and the others first,” he finally ordered. “The rest wait.”
When the warm chicken breasts and water were handed to them, Mo Youxue’s fingers trembled uncontrollably.
She tore open the packaging; the rich aroma instantly awakened her taste buds.
“Ruoran, eat quickly!” She pushed the food toward her friend’s mouth.
An Ruoran chewed mechanically before tears suddenly broke free. “Xue’er… will we die here?”
Mo Youxue’s hand froze.
She looked up at the emergency light on the garage ceiling, forever extinguished, then let out a faint laugh:
“No.” Her voice was soft but carried an inexplicable certainty. “That man… won’t let us die.”
Because the dead have no use.
This realization sent chills down her spine but also oddly comforted her.
She bit into a large piece of bread, savoring the sweetness as she quietly planned.
She must find a way to meet the owner of this villa!
