Chapter 10: A Chance Encounter

She widened her eyes and locked gazes with Xia Shou, her face filled with shock and overwhelming emotion.

The young girl blinked, trying to gather her words. After opening her mouth for a long moment, she finally wiped her hand on her pants and extended it toward Xia Shou.

"I-I'm Su Weiyu! Nice to meet you!"

Su Weiyu attempted to shake hands, but the wound on her arm caused her to grimace in pain. Still, she forced out a nervous smile.

"Uh... I'm Xia Shou," he replied awkwardly, shaking her hand. "Are you... okay?"

She sighed. "But that legendary investigator has survived ten years, so there must be a special way. If only we could find him."

Xia Shou’s eyes brightened at her words.

"Do you know where those people died?"

"Yeah, why?"
