Chapter 42: Two Sets of Videos
“After discussion among the parliamentary committee members, we request that C03 transfer S09 to the A01 containment facility.”
“This is also for the safety of humanity! The potential danger of S09 is enormous!”
“If you use it to start a war, the entire human civilization could be wiped out!”
“Of course, A01 has already agreed to pay a substantial compensation! Name your price!”
The councilman’s voice was calm.
The doctor stood up.
“Councilman, I believe you understand what S09 represents for the Huaxia Nation?”
At that moment, a young man rose to his feet.
He had smooth golden hair and wore an expression of pride.
“Doctor! We are well aware of S09’s significance!”
“But you can hand S09 over to us—we will take responsibility for protecting Huaxia!”
“Our special forces will assist you in guarding the ‘Gate’!”
The doctor touched the corner of his eye.
“Mr. Adam, thank you for your kind offer!”
“But obviously, we do not require protection from others.”
He then turned to the councilman.
“Councilman, I believe this matter can be skipped entirely.”
The councilman glanced toward Adam’s direction and then spoke in a deep voice.
“According to the Warden’s regulations, the proposal must be put to a full vote!”
Upon hearing this, the doctor shrugged and sat back down.
The warden chuckled quietly over a private channel.
“A01 already has S02—the Angel. And now they still have their eyes on S09!”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk! Greed truly is their nature!”
The prison superintendent laughed heartily.
“Everyone understands what these kinds of containment objects represent!”
“They exist primarily as deterrents.”
“If A01 takes S09, the entire Warden organization might as well become A01’s property!”
“So this vote will only be a formality, a token gesture to placate A01!”
He nodded in agreement, sharing the same view.
Only the doctor’s brow furrowed slowly.
He sensed that something was amiss.

Elsewhere,
Lu Xiao spoke to the driver.
“Driver, could you help me find some materials? I want to make badges for the prison medic and Ivan as well.”
The driver was extremely reluctant.
Since being contained, he had hardly left the containment chamber.
Normally, no staff came looking for him, so he enjoyed the quiet.
But Lu Xiao kept coming to him with various requests.
The driver was not too opposed to this in principle.
The problem was, Lu Xiao always took him to see that bird-beaked doctor and that terrifying skeleton.
That made the driver very uncomfortable.

The councilman nodded.
“Request granted!”
Immediately, a light screen appeared before everyone.
In the footage, a figure drenched in blood moved among over a dozen soldiers clad in the Warden special forces gear.
The perspective was from the soldiers’ point of view.
Each soldier encountered by the figure was killed in an extremely brutal manner.
Adam’s voice continued.
“This vicious creature is C03’s containment object S292!”
“C03 secretly violated the Warden regulations by classifying this hostile, bizarre creature as S-class!”
“And allowed this savage entity out to slaughter other Warden soldiers!”
Next came a second set of footage.
The same figure was again slaughtering the Warden’s special forces.
This time, the special forces carried a containment object.
It was a wooden coffin over half a meter long.
The scene showed Lu Xiao confronting the marionette.
Adam chuckled softly.
“Mr. Craftsman, I think you should explain this matter yourself!”
Hearing this, the craftsman immediately stood up, his face full of anguish.
“The doctor allowed a high-risk containment object to rampage freely on our territory!”
“We dispatched soldiers carrying S137—the Marionette—to handle it!”
“But they were slaughtered, and even S137 was taken away by that high-risk containment!”
“Doctor, please answer directly—does C03 currently have S137 in your custody?”
All eyes turned to the doctor, who nodded slightly.
“Ah, this?”
The warden beside him was dumbfounded.
“Can someone really be shameless to such an extent?”
The superintendent’s tone grew grave.
“Doctor, do you have the operational video archives of that mission?”
The doctor’s voice was calm.
“Since they dared to release footage to slander me, it means the corresponding video archives have been tampered with!”
As expected, after searching the database for a while, the doctor found all records had been erased.
However, he soon froze when he found a recording.
“Doctor, do you have any evidence to defend yourself?”
The councilman asked the doctor.
The doctor shook his head.
“Sorry, councilman, I have no evidence to refute Mr. Adam’s videos.”
A look of disdain flashed across the craftsman’s face before he raised his voice.
“Councilman, I request that C03 return our lost S137!”
The councilman nodded.
“Doctor, without evidence to explain, Mr. Craftsman’s request stands.”
The doctor rubbed his eyes and stood up calmly.
“I have no evidence regarding the first video, but I have a recording that might clarify Mr. Craftsman’s concerns!”
He played the recording.
“I am the doctor!”
“Doctor! Return the Marionette!”
“I refuse!”
“Doctor! S137 belongs to our J01 containment facility. How dare you refuse its return? Aren’t you afraid I’ll report to the Supreme Office?”
“Since S137 appeared on our territory, it means your containment failed!”
“According to Warden regulations, if a containment fails and the object appears on our land, we have the right and obligation to contain it!”
“But you know the containment of S137 has not failed!”
“Sorry! I didn’t know!”
“All I know is that S137 appeared on our land, so to prevent it from running wild, we contained it!”
“If you object to this, you may report to the Supreme Office forI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
