“Th-that’s huge!”

The sight had been shocking before, but they had been standing too far away. Now that they were closer, the massive size of the two beasts was even more overwhelming.

Their bodies stretched over twenty meters long, radiating an oppressive presence that was almost unbearable.

“Fortunately, they’re only at the peak of the second tier, not yet the third.” Lin Yu carefully gauged their strength, a hint of delight in his eyes.

The pressure the two beasts gave him was immense, but it still fell short of the third tier.

If he entered Dragonflame Mode, he would be no weaker than either of them—perhaps even stronger.

“They both seem to be seriously injured.” Lin Shiyun stared at the savage, terrifying wounds covering the two beasts.

“That’s what happens when opponents of equal rank fight. Even if one manages to kill the other, they’re bound to suffer severe injuries themselves.”

The three of them crouched behind a great tree, watching the battle from behind a mountain.

It was like witnessing a monster movie in real life.

A high-definition, naked-eye 3D version at that.

“They’ve been fighting for quite a while. It probably won’t be long before a winner is decided.”

Lin Yu’s eyes gleamed. “When that happens, we’ll just go in and reap the benefits.”

“Brother Yu, who do you think will win in the end?”

“If they’re evenly matched, the giant python will probably die. The gorilla has a greater innate advantage.”

Sure enough, just as Lin Yu finished speaking, the gorilla seized the python’s tail and spat out a bolt of lightning, severing it cleanly.

The python writhed in agony, rolling across the ground.

Its enormous body twisted as it spewed blazing flames, scorching the gorilla’s chest with a sizzling hiss.

“Roar!”

The gorilla flew into a rage. Ignoring the flames, it charged forward and seized the python’s body.

Terrified at being caught again, the python hurriedly opened its jaws and spat out another stream of fire.

The gorilla refused to yield. Lightning gathered in its mouth before shooting out in a violent blast.

A clash of beams!

Flames against lightning!

“Since ancient times, the one on the left always loses in a beam struggle,” Lin Yu muttered. “That python is done for.”

“What does that mean?” Liu Shiyun asked, utterly bewildered.

“It was an Internet catchphrase from before the apocalypse. Whenever flame energy and lightning energy clash like this, the one on the left loses.” Lin Yu grinned.

“That’s incredible.”

Sure enough, with its tail severed and its injuries too severe, the python’s attack had already weakened.

The lightning pierced through the flames and slammed into the python’s head.

Blood sprayed through the air.

A fist wrapped in crackling lightning came crashing down in its wake.

In only a few moments, the python’s head was smashed apart. Its body writhed briefly before going still.

“My turn!”

A sharp glint flashed through Lin Yu’s eyes.

After killing the python, the gorilla collapsed onto the ground, gasping heavily.

It too was gravely wounded. Most of its strength had been exhausted, and almost none of its magical power remained.

At that moment, an immense force surged upward.

Lin Yu immediately entered Dragonflame Mode. Magical power surged through his entire body as he radiated an astonishing might.

In an instant, he appeared behind the gorilla and slammed down with his fist.

“Roar!”

The gorilla bellowed furiously. Lightning spread across its body as it swung its fist up to block.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Taking advantage of his smaller frame and the tremendous speed granted by Dragonflame Mode, Lin Yu unleashed punch after punch, striking the exact same spot on the gorilla’s back every time.

“Flame Roar!”

A terrifying pillar of fire erupted from Lin Yu’s mouth and struck the constantly battered area.

Blood blossomed.

The pillar of flame pierced straight through the gorilla’s chest, passing completely through from its back.

“Flame Blade!”

Crimson flames gathered in Lin Yu’s hand, forming a massive blade over twenty meters long. He brought it down in a savage slash.

The gorilla crossed both arms above its head, roaring furiously.

“Die!”

Lin Yu drew back his blade and struck again.

The terrifying force shattered both of the gorilla’s arms before cleaving into its head.

“It still isn’t dead?” Lin Yu asked in surprise.

Although the gorilla was at the peak of the second tier, it was already at the end of its strength. He had been confident that killing it in Dragonflame Mode would not be difficult.

He had not expected it to be so resilient.

“Then take this!”

Lin Yu brought the blade down again and again. The gorilla could do nothing but endure the blows.

Lightning surged and gathered wildly in its mouth before blasting outward.

“Don’t you know that the one on the left always loses in a beam struggle?” Lin Yu laughed.

He opened his mouth as well. Flames condensed and roared forth.

With almost no magical power left, the gorilla stood no chance against Lin Yu, who was at full strength and in Dragonflame Mode.

The pillar of fire swept through the lightning like a force of nature, piercing it and charging straight into the gorilla’s mouth before bursting through the back of its skull.

“Boom!”

Its unwilling body crashed heavily to the ground, shaking the earth.

Suddenly, countless wind blades descended from above.

A gigantic eagle swooped down through the sky, cold light gleaming from its razor-sharp talons as it clawed toward the gorilla’s head.

“You’re asking for death!”

Lin Yu snorted coldly. How could he fail to understand?

The mantis stalked the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.

Someone was trying to play the oriole, hoping to seize his second-tier crystal core while he was distracted.

“Mirror Flower, Water Moon!”

Liu Shiyun’s voice rang out.

The giant eagle diving from the sky suddenly froze in midair. Then space itself shattered, exploding across its body in sprays of blood.

“Go!”

A man on the eagle’s back shouted loudly. The eagle immediately climbed higher and soared into the sky.

After blocking the wind blades, Lin Yu stared coldly at the dark silhouette overhead.

“Brother Yu, are you all right?” the two women asked as they ran over.

“I’m fine. Shiyun, put the corpses of the two mutant beasts away.” Lin Yu kept his eyes fixed on the sky.

The giant eagle continued circling overhead, apparently unwilling to leave and waiting for another chance to strike.

Lin Yu was somewhat helpless.

On the ground, he had nothing to fear. But at such a height, his attacks could not reach it.

“Caw!”

A cry split the sky.

Perhaps the man had noticed Liu Shiyun storing away the mutant beasts’ corpses and grown anxious. Once again, he urged the eagle into a dive.

Lin Yu watched coldly, secretly gathering power in his hands.

Suddenly, two more giant eagles attacked from another direction.

“A Beast-Taming Awakened?”

A blade of flame condensed in Lin Yu’s hand, and he slashed directly at them.

Unfortunately, eagles could fly, and they were extremely agile in the air. His attack was difficult to land.

“I hate these flying pests.”

Lin Yu was deeply frustrated.

When the eagles swooped toward him again, his anger finally began to rise.

If he had already comprehended how to condense wings from the power of fire, he would not have been forced into such an awkward position.

A cold glint flickered in his eyes.

He crouched down and pressed his right palm against the earth.

“Now!”

As the three giant eagles swooped down once more, he shouted. Crimson flames erupted all over his body, and he entered Dragonflame Mode in an instant.

“Boom!”

Flames roared from the palm pressed against the ground, blasting violently into the earth.

Borrowing the terrifying force of the recoil, his entire body shot into the sky like a rocket.

“What the hell!”

“What kind of insane move is that?”

The man riding the giant eagle stared at the scene, his eyes nearly bulging from their sockets.

He could do that?

And what was with the flames covering his entire body?

Some kind of superpowered warrior?

Lin Yu’s speed was astonishing.

In the blink of an eye, he had risen nearly a hundred meters and appeared above the giant eagle carrying the man.

“Flame Roar!”

A terrifying pillar of fire burst from his mouth and shot downward at tremendous speed.

The entire sequence happened almost instantaneously.

“Is this guy’s strength really that terrifying?”

The man on the giant eagle had never imagined that Lin Yu possessed such a move. He had thought that flying through the sky would leave him completely beyond reach.

Instead, Lin Yu had shown him a spectacular form of aerial assault.

By the time he tried to evade, it was already too late.

“I’m finished!”
