Clatter, clatter, clatter, clatter!
More than a dozen specially modified rifles simultaneously spat tongues of flame, their bullets enhanced by supernatural power forming a dense web of fire that fiercely struck the crystal armor of the Earth-Walking Dragon, igniting a burst of dazzling sparks.
Though the bullets caused no substantial damage, they succeeded in diverting part of the dragon’s attention.
The entire rooftop platform instantly transformed into a chaotic battlefield soaked in blood and fire.
“Everyone, stay hidden and keep quiet,” Li Hexuan’s voice was unusually calm amidst the chaos. “Let them tickle this beast first.”
He led Zhang Nan, Su Mengyi, and the others, swiftly retreating into the shadow cast by enormous pillars and collapsed structures, perfectly concealing their forms. Like patient hunters, they calmly observed the brutal fight unfolding before them.
“Brother Xuan, are we just going to watch?” Zhang Nan’s veins bulged as he gripped his giant shield, barely able to contain his restlessness.
“Charging now would only make us targets,” Li Hexuan’s eyes scanned the battlefield rapidly. “Wait.”
Su Mengyi said nothing but closed her eyes.
From the moment she stepped onto the rooftop, her resonance with the tower had reached its peak.
At this moment, she could clearly “see” the enormous energy core, pulsating violently with every strike of the dragon armored in crystal.
With each breath and claw swipe, the mighty beast drew vast amounts of energy from the core.
“Mr. Li,” she suddenly opened her eyes, her voice urgent and clear in Li Hexuan’s ear, “that core! Every time the beast attacks, the core’s energy fluctuates wildly. At the moment it draws energy, a highly unstable point appears on the lower right of the core, like a crack!”
Li Hexuan’s heart stirred as his gaze locked onto the spot Su Mengyi indicated.
At that moment, his expression sharpened, and he abruptly turned toward another shadowed corner.
There, several furtive figures lurked silently—it was Chen Hao’s remnants, led by the psychic, Yin Jiu.
They were clearly waiting for an opportunity to take advantage of the chaos.
“Time to clean up the trash,” Li Hexuan’s voice was as cold as ice.
He didn’t even let Zhang Nan move; he simply raised his right hand.
Yin Jiu and his men were so focused on the battlefield that they didn’t notice death descending upon them.
A faint, nearly imperceptible deep blue electric streak silently sliced through space, instantly covering nearly a hundred meters, and precisely struck the back of Yin Jiu’s head.
Yin Jiu’s body stiffened abruptly, his eyes dimming instantly. Before he could utter a sound, he collapsed lifelessly.
His men, still unaware of what had happened, were struck down one after another by flashes of electric light, silently eliminated.

The entire process was executed with extreme speed, not disturbing any faction caught in the melee.
The battle had reached a fever pitch.
The Earth-Walking Dragon, thoroughly enraged, ignored the “tickling” bullets and swung its massive tail wildly!
“Boom!”
The remaining members of the Apocalypse Group, along with Zhao Qilong, were sent sprawling, their defensive formation utterly shattered.
“Damn it! Why aren’t the military giving it their all yet?” Zhao Qilong roared in desperation. “At this rate, we’ll all die here!”
The military lieutenant’s face was grave. He knew they couldn’t wait any longer.
“Group B, target the beast’s left eye! Fire!”
Whoosh!
A high-energy armor-piercing projectile trailed a long fiery tail as it screamed toward the dragon’s head.
The dragon seemed to sense the threat and sharply turned its head, but the shell still slammed hard against the edge of its eye socket!
“Aaargh—!”
The dragon let out a pained roar as its once impenetrable crystal armor was breached for the first time, dark purple-black blood flowing from the wound.
In agony, it fell into a frenzy!
Abandoning all other targets, the colossal creature reared up, mouth agape, forming a deep purple energy sphere of devastating power at a dizzying speed.
“No good! It’s about to use that move!” Zhao Qilong’s face drained of color.
“Now!” Li Hexuan’s voice rang out suddenly.
At the exact moment the beast was gathering its ultimate attack, all attention drawn and energy being frenziedly siphoned—causing the core’s “crack” to fluctuate most intensely—Li Hexuan moved!
His figure shot out from the shadows like a lightning bolt, dashing straight toward the massive energy core!
“What is he trying to do!” The military lieutenant and Zhao Qilong simultaneously noticed the unexpected intruder, both shocked and furious.
But it was too late.
Li Hexuan made no grand, sweeping moves; he compressed his electromagnetic control ability to its absolute limit.
An almost invisible energy blade, forged from high-frequency oscillating electromagnetic power, formed at his fingertips.
“Open it for me!”

With a wave of his arm, the invisible electromagnetic blade sliced precisely along the energy “crack” Su Mengyi had pointed out!
There was no earth-shattering explosion, only the faint “crack” like glass breaking.
A head-sized shard of the core, shimmering with brilliant, multicolored light and irregular in shape, was painfully severed from the main core!
Li Hexuan snatched the scorching core fragment, a surge of immense energy flooding into his body, making him tremble all over.
“Move!”
Without a moment’s hesitation, he shouted fiercely to his team as soon as he secured the fragment!
The instant the core fragment was cut off, the destruction energy sphere the Earth-Walking Dragon had been forming suddenly spiraled out of control!
A roar filled with infinite pain and rage erupted—not as sound, but as a pure torrent of energy!
The deep purple energy flooded wildly across the entire rooftop!
“Hit the deck!” The military lieutenant bellowed, his eyes blazing, throwing his comrades to the ground.
Zhao Qilong turned pale, grabbing Zhao Yuhang nearby as a human shield, unleashing all his supernatural power to form an earthen wall before him.
Boom!
The entire rooftop platform trembled under the devastating energy storm; the ground cracked, pillars collapsed.
Neither the elite military nor the Apocalypse Group thugs could withstand the indiscriminate fury of this king-class beast—they were like leaves caught in a gale, instantly torn apart and devoured.
“Go!”
Li Hexuan’s shout was the only clear command amid the chaos.
He shoved the searing core fragment into his chest pocket, electric sparks flashing across his body as he led his team charging back the way they came.
“Stop him! Don’t let him escape!” The surviving military lieutenant and Zhao Qilong shouted in unison, eyes burning with fury as they helplessly watched Li Hexuan seize the greatest opportunity on the rooftop.
The remaining soldiers and Apocalypse Group members immediately turned their weapons and recklessly pursued Li Hexuan and his team.
“Nanzi!” Li Hexuan barked without looking back.
“Leave it to me!” Zhang Nan’s eyes blazed fiercely as he spun around, slamming his giant shield onto the narrow passageway floor with a resounding clang.
“Want to get through? You’ll have to step over me!”
