Chapter 18: Trapped by the Siren’s Scheme

Yun Fu studied the man for a moment, noting his distinct, serious features. She thought she might have been mistaken and opened the door to let him in.
As soon as he entered the room, Qin Min felt enveloped by a rich, intoxicating fragrance.
The scent brazenly invaded his nostrils, making Qin Min want to curl the corners of his eyes into a smile and pull the slender figure before him closer, placing her in front of him to see if the fragrance emanated from her skin.
Yun Fu turned her head and caught Qin Min’s deep gaze fixed on her.
This merman was strangely dark and mysterious, exactly the kind of character Yun Fu liked—perhaps truly a little Bodhisattva fish, harboring compassion but only daring to covet secretly.
Unlike her, who, just a moment ago, had genuinely wanted to chain the merman up and make her shed little pearls.
Well, she was indeed a bit wicked.
Yun Fu blinked and said, “What are you standing there for? Come over here.”
Qin Min suppressed his thoughts and walked over to sit on the sofa.
He wore a white robe, his silver hair slightly damp, the collar low enough to reveal a delicate collarbone that was exquisite to behold. His skin was cold and white like jade, with a single crimson mole between his brows.
He was stunningly beautiful, a captivating blend of allure and restraint.
“Shall we begin?” Qin Min asked, his eyes seeming to draw in reason itself as he looked at Yun Fu.
Yun Fu suspected this merman was quite cunning.
But she certainly wouldn’t believe that the Qin Min who had just wanted to kill her a day or two ago now loved her deeply.
Perhaps the merman had used some sort of enchanting skill to bewitch her, making her willingly submit to his control—it wasn't impossible.
Faced with life-threatening danger, Yun Fu’s fleeting sensual thoughts vanished instantly. Her eyes cleared, showing no sign of being swayed by beauty.
She released the jellyfish spirit, which landed on her shoulder, its ribbon-like tentacles swaying as it tilted its head toward Qin Min.
Qin Min reached out his hand instinctively, his eyes resting on the jellyfish.
“Your spiritual form is beautiful.”
Yun Fu lifted her chin and patted the jellyfish’s head. “Of course.”
The jellyfish gave Qin Min a knowing glance, as if acknowledging his good taste.
Both man and spirit radiated the same proud arrogance.
Qin Min’s expression softened somewhat.
Yun Fu placed her hand on the man’s pale, almost translucent wrist; beneath her fingertips, the blue-green veins pulsed rapidly.

Her fingers paused and shifted slightly, just as she was about to focus her spiritual energy to probe into Qin Min’s mental realm, the man’s hand suddenly moved.
His long, cool fingers slipped between hers. Yun Fu looked up, and he asked naturally, “Isn’t this how you comforted me last time?”
Yun Fu couldn’t very well admit that the last time she comforted him, it was to test the effect of the Beastman’s mesmerizing aura, so she simply acquiesced, letting their fingers intertwine.
Seeing no discomfort on her face, Qin Min felt a wave of relief and gripped her hand as if it were a piece of warm jade.
Ignoring the sudden warmth in his hand, Yun Fu began to soothe him.
The jellyfish spirit entered Qin Min’s mental realm without hindrance. It was an ocean frozen in time—completely opposite to Lu Shiling’s fiery mental domain.
Through the jellyfish’s perspective, Yun Fu saw the handsome merman trapped inside a cage, encased in ice.
His beautiful silver tail was injured, blood staining the surrounding ice crimson.
The jellyfish tapped the ice cage with its tentacle—it was sturdy.
The merman’s gaze was indifferent as he looked at it, trying to break the ice with his tail, but he couldn’t even move it.
The jellyfish batted at the cage, silently mocking him, then floated above it, using its claws to draw in the black mist that had attracted it, consuming it bit by bit.
As the black mist vanished, the ice in the ocean began to melt.
The merman moved freely again. With a powerful flick of his tail, the cage shattered and sank to the seabed.
At that moment, many sea creatures swam into the thawed area, surrounding the jellyfish. Some fish even shaped their tails into a heart.
The merman snorted coldly, flicked his tail, and brought the jellyfish to his face, pinching its round head with his fingers.
“Who are you?”
The jellyfish remained silent, slapped that dreamlike handsome face with a claw, and then quickly darted out of the mental realm.
Yun Fu: “...”
She really hadn’t taught it to behave like that.
As her consciousness returned, she found herself sitting very close to Qin Min—actually perched on his leg.
His arm circled her waist, and his head rested intimately against her neck, the faint cold fragrance on his body distinctly perceptible.
Yun Fu was startled.
Last time, Lu Shiling’s beast form had been pressed against her like this; now Qin Min was too.
Could it be that in this world, when a Beastman is comforted, they unconsciously draw close to the female?
Page 3/3
[The supporting female’s suspicious expression—surely she doesn’t think every Beastman is this cheap when comforted?]
[I want to rush in and tell her she’s being set up by the Beastman!]
[Exactly, I just saw it: this merman was not honest. While the supporting female comforted him, he silently reached out and pulled her to sit on his lap.]
[Tsk tsk, didn’t he want to kill her before? Now he’s holding her tight.]
[With how the merman treats the supporting female, I wonder if he even likes the heroine.]
[What’s there to fear? If the supporting female can keep up the act forever, fine. But if she can’t, once the merman is numb from her, he’ll still like the heroine. Especially since the heroine is about to approach the sly fox and comfort him—she’ll definitely win him over in one go.]
Qin Min’s eyes flickered. That Su Nianwei was going to approach that flirtatious fox?
If that’s true, then the unfaithful Beastman—Yun Fu would find him filthy and reject him, right?
“Qin Min, let go.” Seeing that the man still hadn’t fully recovered after the comfort session and was holding her tightly, Yun Fu reached out to push him.
They were too close; she could feel his heavy breath and growing heat. Not wanting things to spiral out of control, she quickly stopped him.
Qin Min lowered his gaze to her slender fingers pressing against his shoulder. As he bent his head, their noses nearly touched.
Yun Fu hurriedly stepped back, pulling her hand free and retreating far away.
The sudden emptiness in his arms darkened Qin Min’s eyes. He withdrew his hand and said,
“Sorry, I didn’t control myself.”
The merman looked downcast, clearly feeling guilty.
Yun Fu had nothing to say. She withdrew the satiated jellyfish back into her mental realm and looked at him.
“Since the comfort is over, you should go rest.”
Qin Min’s expression froze. He stood up, a clear look of puzzlement on his face.
Because of their earlier struggle, his robe had come undone. As he stood, Yun Fu caught sight of his firm abdominal and chest muscles, along with his perfect merman lines.
Truly a body designed to tempt.
“Yun Fu, I am your lawful Beastman husband. Don’t you need me to stay and accompany you?”
