Su Nianwei's attitude toward the few beastmen was subtle; it was not surprising that she came here to see Lu Shiling. However, what Yun Fu did not realize was that this time the situation at the supervisory station was different from before. Last time, Lu Shiling’s mental power had collapsed, causing a 3S-level psychic energy leak that suppressed the beastmen inside the station. Instinctively avoiding his sharp aura, they dared not make any move and obediently stayed put. Even though they sensed Yun Fu’s close presence, they only dared to secretly watch her from the confinement cells.

This time, Lu Shiling’s mental power was more stable. The beastmen in the confinement cells had merely hoped that Su Nianwei might soothe them a little and remained relatively calm. But now, sensing Yun Fu’s aura, their eyes all gleamed brightly as they looked toward her. Their mental power had not collapsed; those who could transform into human form had taken on human shapes, their eyes burning with intensity despite their beast ears and tails. Those unable to transform pounded the protective walls with their beast forms and pressed the confinement cell buttons, eagerly trying to get out and approach Yun Fu to act coy and win her affection, hoping she would soothe them.

For a moment, the warning bells inside the supervisory station rang continuously, accompanied by the clamorous voices of the beastmen, as if they were out of control and trying to break free from the confinement cells. Yun Fu was startled. Were these beastmen mentally collapsing? 01 quickly positioned himself in front of her, warily watching the beastmen in the confinement cells whose green eyes fixed on Yun Fu.

Valen and the other guards also tensed up. Seeing the most unruly beastmen were those with high B and C-level psychic contamination, they too assumed their mental powers had collapsed and anxiously asked Su Nianwei to soothe them. Terrified by the beastmen’s frenzy, Su Nianwei hid behind a few males and, hearing Valen’s request for her to calm them, gritted her teeth, unwilling to waste her psychic energy on these low-level mad beastmen.

“My psychic energy is limited; I can’t soothe so many beastmen,” Su Nianwei said regretfully. Her heart, bruised by Lu Shiling’s earlier blow, began to regain some confidence upon seeing how excited these beastmen were by her presence. “Officer Lu, see? If you don’t want me to soothe you, there are plenty of beastmen eager for my comfort!”

Lu Shiling did not reply to Su Nianwei, only finding the sudden agitation of the beastmen strange. After releasing some psychic power to barely suppress their restlessness, he looked past Su Nianwei and the others and his eyes brightened a few degrees upon seeing a slender figure approaching. Clawing at the protective wall, one beastman shouted to Yun Fu, “Why did you come so late? I’ve been waiting for a long time.” The fox-eyed beastman stared straight at Yun Fu, his voice tinged with plaintiveness.

Lu Shiling’s voice suddenly changed tone, making Su Nianwei’s heart skip a beat. Following his gaze, she saw the approaching figure—it was Yun Fu, and Lu Shiling’s expression shifted.

Having not seen Yun Fu for several days, Qing Ze instinctively tried to stop himself from thinking about her. Now that he saw her, he wanted to look away but found himself unable to stop staring. Yun Fu wore a pale green off-shoulder long dress, her skin as luminous and pure as freshly fallen snow, revealing a slender calf. Her long black hair was half tied up, her lips a vivid red, radiantly beautiful. Seeing her, it was as if even the wind had halted.

The beastman youth who had brought her was even more delighted, his furry ears twitching and cheeks flushed red. Were it not for respect toward Yun Fu as a female officer, he would have transformed into his beast form to cuddle and nuzzle her. “Miss Yun, you’re here,” Valen said with some guilt, feeling he should have been the one to escort her.

Yun Fu nodded, glanced at Su Nianwei, and asked, “What’s going on with these beastmen? They seem very excited.” Valen, also unsure why all the beastmen were agitated, could only guess, “Maybe because two females arrived at the supervisory station, and they just can’t control their emotions for now.”

Yun Fu thought about it and believed that these beastmen truly needed the comfort of females, so she accepted the explanation for the time being. Moreover, since beastmen needed soothing, perhaps her perfume could be sold out all at once. However, Yun Fu did not want to talk about perfume in front of Su Nianwei. Just as she was about to go elsewhere with Valen to discuss matters, Lu Shiling, who had been ignoring Yun Fu, looked so aggrieved that even his tail drooped.

“Is this how you treat your female master, Yun Fu? Ignoring me like this?” he complained. “Or are you mistaken? I really didn’t let that female soothe me; I didn’t even let anyone near the confinement cells. I’m very clean. You can’t just slander me for being unfaithful.”

Yun Fu was speechless but simply did not reply immediately. She wondered how Lu Shiling could come up with all these self-reflective justifications. Feeling helpless, she walked over under Lu Shiling’s intense gaze and, after Valen opened the protective wall’s entrance, took out fruit and desserts from 01 and handed them to Lu Shiling. “It’s not that I’m ignoring you. These are all prepared for you.”

Lu Shiling put down the lunchbox and opened it. Disappointed that there was no meal inside, he brightened when he saw Yun Fu had brought something, though he still pretended to be indifferent. “What kind of dessert is this? I’m a male and don’t like sweets.”

Yun Fu raised an eyebrow, watching the fox deny liking sweets while already having taken a bite of the small cake. “Oh, then I won’t bring it next time. You can have the untouched piece; I’ll give the rest to the other beastmen.” A white lion beastman on the opposite side looked eagerly toward them, his face clearly saying he wanted some.

Upon hearing this, Lu Shiling quickly hid the cake behind his back and glared at the covetous white lion, his face beneath the fur flushing a deep red.

“I was wrong just now. I actually like it very much,” the fox corrected himself, his once stiff mouth now softening in a healing way. Yun Fu smiled.

Watching the two so comfortably at ease with each other, their atmosphere creating a barrier that excluded everyone else, Su Nianwei clenched her palms. She had come to the supervisory station to get closer to Lu Shiling and improve his favor toward her—not to watch these two act so intimately.

Su Nianwei stepped forward, hesitating but then looking earnestly at Yun Fu and said with a tone full of gravity, “Yun Fu, did you make Officer Lu refuse comfort from other females? What you’re doing isn’t right. You can’t prevent other females from comforting Officer Lu just because your psychic power is only level F and you can’t soothe the beastmen yourself.”

“Officer Lu is a hero of the Empire. His contamination value is too high, and he will inevitably suffer mental collapse. You cannot, out of possessiveness, put him in danger.”

Su Nianwei spoke with a righteous fervor. If she weren’t fixated on someone else’s beastmen, perhaps her words might carry some credibility.

Yun Fu turned toward her, her smile fading. What was with this lecturing tone? “Su Nianwei, are we that close? There’s no need for this sermon. After all, I never told Lu Shiling to refuse other females’ comfort—that was purely his own decision.”

“If you want to criticize, maybe you should look at yourself.”

Yun Fu firmly opposed any emotional manipulation.

Su Nianwei’s expression faltered. Wasn’t it Yun Fu who forbade it? Then how could Lu Shiling refuse her comfort? With her psychic power so high, if he refused her, did that mean he was out of his mind?

“It’s me who doesn’t want other females to touch me. Why ask Yun Fu?” Lu Shiling finished the last bite of cake and coldly looked at Su Nianwei. For some reason, this female always made him uncomfortable.

Thinking this, Lu Shiling spoke even more bluntly, “Besides, since Yun Fu can comfort me, I don’t need your self-righteous kindness.”
