Chapter 7: The Appearance of the Female Protagonist

Seeing the surprise on Qin Min’s face, Yun Fu felt it was enough and released his hand. It was best to soothe him just enough—if the contamination value dropped too much at once, what if Qin Min became unruly? As the tender hand withdrew, Qin Min flexed his fingers, a faint sense of loss washing over him. Yet when he saw the wristband’s notification that the contamination value had decreased by 6%, he reported the result to Yun Fu and then asked her, “Have you ever tested your mental power level? What rank are you?”
Qin Min’s contamination value wasn’t as high as Gu Lin’s, but it still stood at 82%. Females below rank A could not provide him comfort. Qin Min vaguely suspected that even an A-rank female’s mental power wouldn’t soothe him so effectively. Then what rank could Yun Fu’s mental power be? Could it be S-rank?
“I haven’t tested it. Gu Lin originally said he would take me, but then he was suddenly called to the contaminated zone,” Yun Fu said eagerly, wanting to try testing her mental power. In this world, females use mental power to comfort beastmen. She suspected that the beastman’s mesmerizing aura might have awakened her mental power. But she would only know after testing.
Upon hearing the name of the Black Dragon, Qin Min’s eyes darkened. Just overnight, had Gu Lin, who had previously avoided Yun Fu, suddenly shown friendly intentions toward her?
“I’m fine. I’ll go with you,” Qin Min said, his pale blue eyes fixed on Yun Fu. The contamination value dropping had steadying his mood as well. Yun Fu’s drastic change and the mental comfort she had given him left Qin Min uncertain how to treat her.
Yun Fu casually nodded. Qin Min quickly retracted his tail and calmly began to dress. Yun Fu, still in the room, thought to herself, “Is it just my imagination, or does the man’s slow, deliberate movements—his fingertips lightly brushing over his defined abs and chest while buttoning his shirt—exude a certain sensual charm?”
But judging by Qin Min’s expression, which was natural and clear-eyed, he was no seducing beastman; it must have been her imagination.

Once Qin Min was ready, the two boarded the flying craft, heading to the Imperial Mental Power Testing Center. This craft was custom-made by the original owner, its pink exterior cute and lovely, with lively, blinking cat-like eyes at the front of the cockpit—indeed very attractive. Yun Fu sat inside, watching various flying crafts weave through the towering building. Above, sleek signs indicated some sort of shopping mall with a strong technological aura. Luxurious villas floated in the sky, piercing the clouds. No wonder this was an interstellar world—the cybernetic tech vibe was unmistakable.
Before long, the craft began to descend slowly. Just as it was about to land, suddenly a flying craft dashed forward and slammed straight into theirs. The craft was sturdy enough not to be destroyed, but the violent shaking inside nearly threw Yun Fu against the cabin wall.
Qin Min wrapped his arms around her waist to steady her, carefully checking to ensure she was unharmed before withdrawing his gaze. Almost injured, Yun Fu stepped off angrily, determined to see which genius could cause a traffic accident in an automatic, highly rated flying craft.
As the two disembarked one after the other, a group emerged from the opposing craft. A delicate female in a white dress, flanked by five beastmen, approached apologetically. “Yun Fu, I’m sorry. I only wanted to test the craft Qing Ze bought me, but I accidentally hit yours,” Su Nianwei said cautiously, as if fearing Yun Fu’s anger. Her five beastmen companions looked at Yun Fu with fierce glares, protective of her.
“It’s just a bump. Weiwei didn’t do it on purpose, and your craft wasn’t damaged. Yun Fu, don’t make things difficult for Weiwei,” Qing Ze said with disdain. “Weiwei drives well. If she hit you, it was intentional on your part, Yun Fu. Did you want to damage this craft because you knew I bought Weiwei one?”
Before Qing Ze finished, Yun Fu was already amused at being accused so quickly. Now she understood: the delicate female before her was the heroine, Su Nianwei, and the beastmen around her were her mates. The one who shouted the loudest was the peacock beastman favored by the original owner.
In the novel, Su Nianwei was an A-rank mental power female with the highest fertility rating in the empire. Unlike other spoiled females, she was gentle and well-liked by beastmen. The original owner, however, had no mental power or fertility. Perhaps due to a system glitch, she was matched with four 3S-level beastmen—strong but untouchable.
The original owner envied Su Nianwei, who was better in every way and had attentive beastmen. After falling for the peacock beastman, she grew hostile toward Su Nianwei, repeatedly provoking her and trying to steal her mates, causing the empire’s people to despise her.
Yet Su Nianwei was kind. After the original owner was strangled by beastmen who had lost patience, Su Nianwei spoke up for her and even tried to mark the four beastmen to help them avoid punishment. Though no one knew why, the four beastmen refused and chose to suffer backlash, following the original owner instead.

Yun Fu lifted her eyes to look at Su Nianwei, who was being held protectively by the peacock beastman. When Su Nianwei noticed Qin Min stepping out behind Yun Fu, a flicker of jealousy crossed her eyes as she raised her brow. Kind? It didn’t seem very genuine.
“Are you a cook? You’re so good at flipping pans?” Yun Fu sneered coldly at Qing Ze.
“My craft was the one hit. Why are you blaming me first? Are all of you blind?” Yun Fu, dressed in a simple off-shoulder long dress with her dark hair flowing, stood there radiantly beautiful, dazzling anyone who looked. Even Qing Ze, who disliked her for pestering him, was stunned for a moment at her appearance. Only when Su Nianwei tugged at his sleeve with a pitiful expression did he snap back.
“Weiwei didn’t do it on purpose. She’s apologized. What more do you want?” Qing Ze frowned, though his tone was less sharp than before. Seeing Yun Fu now, he felt an inexplicable urge to get closer, to transform back into beast form and nuzzle her hand, begging for a stroke. The impulse was absurd, and Qing Ze quickly lowered his head to his mistress Su Nianwei to suppress it.
“An apology? Is this how you apologize?” Yun Fu looked at Qing Ze’s pale, slender face. She couldn’t understand why the original owner, who had such stunning beastmen, preferred the flashy peacock.
Noticing Qing Ze’s gaze, Qin Min narrowed his eyes and stepped forward. “You were speeding in the central city, violating imperial traffic laws. I have already reported it, and the notice should have been sent to your neural implant.”
No sooner had he spoken than Qing Ze’s neural implant beeped incessantly—a flying violation notice forbidding flight for one month. Qing Ze’s face immediately darkened, and Su Nianwei’s gentle expression nearly broke apart.
This was the flying craft Qing Ze had bought for her, and she had driven it only once before this happened. How could she not be angry? Su Nianwei looked at Qin Min with tearful eyes and a wronged expression.
“Mr. Qin, I really didn’t mean to. Why are you treating me like this?”
Her tone implied some past connection between them, causing Qin Min to furrow his brow.
