Nereus was furious. “It was humanity who declared war first—the torpedoes just now were proof. If I don’t declare war now, they will still start it.”

That old fox was once again shifting all the blame away from himself.

“Maybe they see us as whales. You must understand, humans suffer from paranoia; their first reaction to anything they cannot control is to destroy it. Forgive them—they’re still young!” Xining continued to smile.

At that moment, an empty plastic soda bottle floated past their eyes.

This only fueled Nereus’s anger: “See? If humanity doesn’t perish, they will destroy the oceans!”

Vik, standing nearby, spoke slowly and calmly: “Given the current situation, I advise against rushing into war.”

Xining tilted his head slightly. “Did you hear that? Go back and tell Mera: in fifteen days, Mera and I will marry. Once we have an heir, I’ll reconsider this matter.”

Nereus…

Vik…

Wait, Om should have agreed immediately and proceeded with the next step of the plan. Why is everything so chaotic?

Xining wore a knowing smile. “The strategist’s words are wise! Bullets are blind; no matter what, the throne must be inherited. If I die, your grandson will inherit the Kingdom of Atlantis. Am I wrong?”

Nereus was momentarily speechless, undoubtedly replaying the conversation over and over on his way back. The words seemed right, yet not what he had originally expected.

Having placated Nereus, Xining turned to Vik. “You go ashore immediately and bring my brother Arthur here.”

Vik was taken aback but quickly suppressed his nerves, maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor. “Does His Majesty have a plan?”

Xining replied coolly, “Arthur is the eldest son, after all. By right, the eldest should ascend the throne. Bring him here to familiarize himself with court etiquette and governance procedures. He’s no longer young; it’s time he stopped drinking and causing trouble in bars and got serious.”

Vik looked increasingly surprised, his expression betraying him. “His Majesty intends to…”

Xining pressed his lips together. “When he’s ready to be king, I will abdicate and set out to establish new territories elsewhere. The ocean is vast. Nereus was once exiled and founded a kingdom outside. Now the Zephyr Kingdom is second only to Atlantis. If he can do it, so can I! Go bring him here. If you fail, don’t come back.”

With that, he pulled the reins, turned the seadragon around, and sped off with the troops, leaving a bewildered Vik behind.

Back at the palace, Xining dismissed everyone but the chief guard and sat heavily on the throne, narrowing his eyes as if scrutinizing something. The guard felt uneasy under his gaze.

After a long while, Xining found it necessary to ask, “How did that submarine appear and fire torpedoes?”

The chief guard knelt on one knee immediately. “I rushed to the salvage yard; the submarine had already been taken away. It must have been on Your Majesty’s orders. Forgive me for not acting sooner!”

“Is that so?” Xining stretched the word meaningfully, causing the guard to lower his head, silenced.

The protagonist’s aura was so powerful that the plot seemed to strengthen as well. Even if the host had not arranged it, events unfolded nonetheless.

With a wave of his hand, Xining said, “In that case, forget it. By the way, the pirates haven’t been paid yet. Make sure they get their gold soon. Also, prepare a set of armor for that half-human brother. He’s arriving soon.”

The guard was stunned. “Isn’t that too sudden for armor?”

Hmph, when Arthur was captured and brought in for a duel, didn’t he get armor immediately?

Xining smiled broadly, his white teeth gleaming brightly, and said gently, “Get it ready. Otherwise, I seriously doubt your competency.”

The guard stood at once. “At once, Your Majesty!”

Soldiers in protective gear went to find the pirates, who were sitting on their ship, mourning their deceased father and consumed by the desire to kill Arthur.

Xining didn’t even bother to contact them; he simply had the soldiers hand over the gold and then returned to the palace.

“Go ahead and seek your revenge. I won’t offer any help. With your skills, it’s all pointless anyway.” After a fierce fight and heavy bombing, the protagonist still emerged alive and unharmed.

Next, the host was supposed to take his halberd and stir up a storm beneath the sea, no—create a towering tsunami, washing up the underwater debris onto the shore.

But Xining was leisurely eating a plate of raw oysters, still hungry. Oysters were good for men’s health. “Hmm, not bad. Bring some salmon roe too.”

Vik, half in doubt, brought Arthur along. At that moment, scouts reported the tsunami had indeed occurred.

According to the plot, Arthur was driving home with his father when the tsunami struck. Mera used her superpowers to hold back the water and expelled the water his father had inhaled into his lungs.

Arthur’s attitude toward his father’s savior improved considerably. He asked for Mera’s name, and they formally met. Mera explained that the tsunami was Om’s prelude to war and pledged to help Arthur return to Atlantis and reclaim the throne. Only by reclaiming the throne could war be averted!

Mera piloted her supercar-submersible through a whirlpool, using diplomatic immunity to bypass inspection, and went to meet Vik.

Just as they were discussing how to retrieve the lost Golden Trident, Om’s army arrived and captured Arthur. Vik secretly fled, escaping any incriminating evidence, and returned to Om’s side.

The two brothers exchanged heated words and prepared to duel!

And now…

Mera was still rescuing someone, but the future Sea King was no longer in the car. Arthur was standing right in front of them!

“Brother~” Xining opened his arms wide in greeting before Vik.

They embraced briefly. Arthur stood straighter than the Eiffel Tower, his body covered in tattoos and bulging muscles—how did the host’s mother give birth to such a burly man, like a thug collecting protection money?

“I’ve always wanted to meet you but feared the ocean’s residents might harm you, especially since our mother was sacrificed to the Trench Tribe because of you. Now things seem to be easing, so I couldn’t wait to see you!” Xining’s words were nonsense—just a bit of sibling rivalry.

Arthur constantly claimed he didn’t want the throne, but in the end, he forced the host to hand it over, acting as if he were wronged. It wasn’t that he desired the throne, but that he needed it to save humanity.

At that moment, a servant presented the armor on a tray.

Full body plated, gleaming gold, weighty and impressive, paired with golden sharkskin armor—armor worthy of Armani!

Xining gestured toward the golden battle armor. “A king cannot go without fine clothes. You’re handsome and dignified, brother. Wearing this armor, your kingly aura will command all to submit.”

He then walked toward the throne and beckoned Arthur over.

Arthur was still standing there, stunned. Xining raised an eyebrow. “Why aren’t you coming? Afraid I’ll kill you?”

Vik’s face remained calm, but his tense muscles betrayed his unease.

“What’s there to fear!” Arthur strode forward resolutely.
