Volume One, Chapter 35: Brother Tiger is So Fierce
Lin Hu watched as his proficiency stabilized at fourteen points, and another trap came to mind.
The basket trap!
Ten minutes later.
Lin Hu turned and dragged out a battered old bamboo basket from the storeroom. “Come! Let me teach you how to catch birds with a basket. This trick is even simpler!”
He placed the bamboo basket upside down on the ground, propping up one side with a small stick and scattering a handful of rice inside. “See? When the sparrow enters to eat, we pull the string, and the bird is caught. This is how you catch them alive!”
Before his words faded.
Gu Pianpian and Yan Pinming huddled against the wall, watching his back as if he were some kind of monster.
The Eighth Prince appeared exceedingly excited. The nine core mages under the Fourth Prince were his right-hand men—crucial and powerful. Trying to kill these nine was nearly impossible.
Merlin narrowed his eyes; he had sensed wisps of energy radiating from the energy block, which were directly absorbed by the radiant palace above. Something inside must have been consuming vast amounts of energy.
With battle looming, Nightfall did not feel nervous. His cultivation soared, but he realized he lacked real combat experience. He needed battle to consolidate his advancement; having empty cultivation and hollow realms was no good. Moreover, this apocalyptic tribulation would test his own forces as well.
This kind of flame far surpassed those that had fallen from the clouds of fire. Even the great demon, cloaked in the spore mist of the Lord of Fungi, Kaims, could not withstand the pale blue fire. Instead, the mist ignited, engulfing Kaims in a sea of flames.
“Yes…” At this moment, Yuan Haocang’s trembling finger pressed the red button.
Helian Fire Dance grew uncomfortable under her gaze, flicked her skirt, turned away, her fair face tinged with disdain.
As soon as he reached the door, Chen Zhengyang traced an arc through the air, landing on a distant inverted cone-shaped floating stone.
To make a Thousand Immortal General yield was no easy matter—the price was beyond what most could bear.
“Don’t worry, Engineer Yu. Even the newest among us has six years’ experience. Nothing will go wrong,” the dive team captain replied, smiling as he loaded lead weights onto the suit.
Yang Ping’s introduction made Lin Fan’s heart race every time; it was no wonder this fellow was so fierce. Living in such an environment, you could hardly grow up without being ruthless.
Though they did not fully grasp Akutagawa’s “point,” everyone nodded knowingly, feigning agreement.
Chen Weiye felt inexplicable anger upon seeing Qin Feng, but to show magnanimity and righteousness, he spoke with the demeanor of a gentleman.
So that’s how it was—these dozen or so people could not possibly wield the power of God. His ability was faith.
Xu Changsheng was growing anxious. Though they’d talked so much, he hadn’t gleaned a single useful message.
“What on earth is happening?” The crowd gasped. The air suddenly thinned dramatically.
“Young one, do you know how I got this scar on my face?” Granny Liu laughed for a long while before forcing out each word through her teeth.
She gazed at Liu Mo Xing with boundless affection in her eyes, cupped his face in her hands, and kissed him deeply on the lips.
School let out in the evening. Since Xia Tong didn’t board, Qingyan thoughtfully escorted her to the school gate. After their farewell, Qingyan turned and walked toward the dormitory.
After dinner, with the kitchen tidied, Luo Shuyao remembered something and pulled Chen Yi’an into the living room, hugging the flowers as they took pictures together.
Seeing him still feigning deep emotion, Tang Yu’s temper flared uncontrollably.
Now Tang Chenfeng had produced an illegitimate son—an official grandson of the Tang family. The circle secretly watched Ji Sihan’s embarrassment, thinking she would have to yield her place to the legitimate grandson.
