Chapter 011: Martial Arts Were Originally Techniques for Killing
Lin Le and Xu Xi’er were both stunned by the arrogant and overbearing manner of the little girl before them, momentarily unable to grasp her intentions.
“You beat up Zhao Hu today—he’s not going to let this go! From now on, I’ll look after you at First High, how about that?” Ji Xiaorui lifted her chin and declared with haughty confidence.
The two stood dazed for several seconds, until Xu Xi’er finally couldn’t hold back and covered her mouth, laughing out loud. Lin Le couldn’t help but give a wry smile as well.
Seeing their reactions, Ji Xiaorui instantly grew displeased.
“Hey, I’m being serious here! What are you laughing at?” she pouted in annoyance.
But with her delicate, girlish features, even her complaints sounded childlike.
“Little sister, perhaps we should wait until you’ve fully grown up before we discuss this matter,” Lin Le said, making to lead Xu Xi’er away.
Ji Xiaorui glanced down at her own chest and immediately stomped her foot in anger. “Hey, what do you mean? Are you saying I’m flat-chested? For your information, I’m a 34E! That’s E, okay!”
She put her hands on her hips and thrust out her chest proudly, desperate to prove her point to Lin Le.
Truth be told, Ji Xiaorui was actually quite well-developed, which stood in stark contrast to her cute, childlike face—one couldn’t help but think of the phrase, “childlike face, mature figure…”
But Lin Le hadn’t been referring to that. If it weren’t for Ji Xiaorui’s mature sense of style and her figure, he’d almost have mistaken her for a primary schooler.
And now, this little girl with a baby face was standing before him, saying she’d protect him.
What a joke! Was he, the great Young Master Lin, supposed to lose face like this?
Still, the little thing really was adorable.
Xu Xi’er seemed amused as well. She walked up to Ji Xiaorui, bent down, and her ample figure immediately loomed before the little girl, exerting a subtle pressure that made Ji Xiaorui unconsciously take a step back.
“Mm, little sister, E-cup doesn’t quite look like that…” Xu Xi’er said with a smile.
Ji Xiaorui looked at Xu Xi’er’s chest, then at her own. The comparison couldn’t have been clearer. Only then did she understand the meaning of “the real thing” versus “exaggeration,” and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
“If I use a bit of padding, it's still there…” she muttered sheepishly.
“Even without that, I’m at least a D!” she insisted, digging herself deeper with every word.
By the end of her explanation, Ji Xiaorui herself seemed to lose interest, feeling a bit deflated.
“So what if it’s bigger? Nothing to be proud of! It must be a pain to carry around…” she grumbled under her breath.
Xu Xi’er and Lin Le exchanged glances, both finding the little girl quite amusing.
“All right, little sister, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be going now.”
“Wait!” Ji Xiaorui called out again.
“What is it now?”
“You did the Kuafu Treading Sun technique—you must be a martial arts expert!” Ji Xiaorui exclaimed.
This brought a flicker of surprise to Lin Le’s face.
There were two branches in martial arts: the outer and the inner. Ordinary people only ever saw the outer branch—often used for performance and sparring. True inner martial arts, however, were accessible only to the rare few at the pinnacle of the field.
As the saying goes, “martial arts were originally killing skills.” Real martial arts weren’t for show or health—they were for killing.
Not long ago, the news reported a martial arts master challenging a so-called Tai Chi grandmaster, knocking him down in a matter of seconds and causing quite a stir. But, to be fair, that master had only faced an outer-branch martial artist with flashy moves.
Every style had its inner and outer disciples; Tai Chi was no exception. Had the challenger faced a true inner-branch Tai Chi master, he wouldn’t have known how he died.
The reason Lin Le was surprised by Ji Xiaorui’s words was that the Kuafu Treading Sun move he had used was a secret assassination technique of the inner branch, knowledge only inner-branch martial artists could possess.
But looking at the innocent, loli-faced Ji Xiaorui before him, Lin Le simply couldn’t connect her with the world of inner martial arts.
“So, what is it you want?” Lin Le asked with interest.
“I want you to teach me kung fu!” Ji Xiaorui stated her purpose directly.
In her view, this guy was already capable of killing with a single move at such a young age, clearly far more impressive than that old master—plus, that old lech was always sneaking glances at her chest. She’d have her father gouge the old man’s eyes out and sell them to Africa!
“But why should I teach you?” Lin Le crossed his arms, smiling at the adorable little loli before him.
“Because I can protect you! I’m the boss of First High in Haizhou—if I’m around, Zhao Hu wouldn’t dare touch you even if he had eight lives!” Ji Xiaorui declared with swagger.
“Oh?” Lin Le found her even more amusing. “You’re really that powerful?”
“Of course! Ask around—who at First High in Haizhou doesn’t know Sister Xiaorui? You must be new here!” interjected Lulu, who hadn’t been happy ever since Ji Xiaorui mentioned wanting to apprentice herself to Lin Le.
If you’re going to find a master, at least pick someone decent. Sure, this guy just beat Zhao Hu, but he’s still just a snot-nosed kid—probably still a virgin, too. How could someone like that know any real kung fu, let alone bedroom arts…
“Xiaorui? You’re Ji Xiaorui?” Xu Xi’er asked in surprise.
“You’ve heard of her?” Lin Le asked.
Xu Xi’er nodded and quietly explained to Lin Le: “Ji Xiaorui is the most notorious female school tyrant at First High, known as the Crown Princess. She’s got a huge following, and her background is said to be formidable—even Zhao Hu doesn’t dare mess with her. Brother Lin Le, if she’s on your side, you’ll definitely have a much easier time at school.”
Lin Le understood.
He wasn’t actually afraid of Zhao Hu’s retaliation, but having someone like a buzzing fly bother him every other day was terribly annoying. If Ji Xiaorui could take care of these nuisances, so much the better.
He vaguely recalled that, like Xu Xi’er, Ji Xiaorui was also one of the four famous beauties of Haizhou First High.
Other than her name, though, Lin Le knew almost nothing about her—not her character, nor her temperament.
He decided to string her along for now and observe her a bit more.
“So, have you made up your mind? I protect you, you teach me kung fu. Fair deal, right?” Ji Xiaorui, emboldened by hearing Xu Xi’er and Lin Le discuss her reputation, grew even more confident.
But Lin Le only smiled faintly and replied, “Little sister, think about it—if I’m capable enough to be your master and teach you kung fu, do you really think I’d need your protection? Have you ever seen a master needing their disciple to cover for them?”
“Um… That does sound logical…” Ji Xiaorui looked adorably baffled, lost in thought.
Off to the side, Lulu could only hold her forehead in exasperation. Her young lady was perfect in every way—except her logic was a bit fuzzy.
Seeing that Ji Xiaorui was thoroughly confused, Lin Le continued, “Still, your offer is interesting. I’ll give it some thought.”
With that, Lin Le and Xu Xi’er walked away.
They hadn’t gone far when Ji Xiaorui’s voice called out after them, “Hey, I can pay you—how about a million a year? If that’s not enough, we can negotiate!”
Lin Le smiled and didn’t look back, walking further away.
Ji Xiaorui stood there, bewildered. “Did I just get rejected? Me, Ji Xiaorui, was actually turned down?”
But that boy’s parting smile was rather handsome—what did it mean?
What did it mean, indeed? At that moment, Lin Le was cursing inwardly.
Why didn’t you say so earlier?! Why didn’t you mention the money first! If you’d led with that, we wouldn’t have needed all that posturing! And now you’re not even calling me back—how can I, the great Young Master Lin, shamelessly turn around and go back?
Really, you're not going to stop me?
Lin Le felt as if he’d just lost several million, grinding his teeth in frustration.
Xu Xi’er, noticing his expression, asked in confusion, “Brother Lin Le, what’s wrong?”
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just a little pain in my liver…”
Back where they had left, Ji Xiaorui and Lulu were feeling dejected, about to return to the car when Lulu glanced at her phone and her eyes widened in shock. “Oh no, Xiaorui, we’re in trouble!”
