Chapter 022: Who Is Guan Tianxiong
At this moment, Luo Kui felt as though he had seen a ghost.
He had thought a few Molotov cocktails would be enough to kill his enemy, sparing him the trouble of dealing with it himself. But to his shock, the other man broke through the security window with sheer force!
As Lin Le Fei escaped, the gas cylinder used for cooking in the shop exploded with a deafening roar. A massive tongue of flame shot from the room. Had Lin Le not fled just in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Lei Gang and his men were astonished by the raging fire—and by Lin Le himself.
Lei Gang and his group were mere small-time thugs. Though they could be fierce on occasion, blatant arson and murder made them uneasy. Especially when their opponent was such a formidable martial artist.
Lin Le gently laid his father, Lin Tenghui, down.
In the chaos, Lin Tenghui had been struck on the head and was bleeding.
“Dad, are you all right?” Lin Le asked anxiously.
“I'm fine, just a minor cut,” his father replied.
Lin Le finally looked up at Luo Kui and the others before him. His eyes were colder than ever, his whole being radiating murderous intent.
Lei Gang and his men, well aware of Lin Le’s strength, felt chills down their spines at his gaze.
“Well, kid, looks like you’ve got some skill,” Luo Kui said arrogantly.
“So, you’re the one behind this?” Lin Le’s voice was icy.
“Yes, it’s me! I hear you’re a tough one, daring to oppose the Tianxiong Gang. Today, I’ll cripple you!” Luo Kui snarled, drawing a short knife from behind his back.
“Die!” he shouted, swinging the blade at Lin Le.
Lin Le sidestepped, the blade slicing past his chest.
Luo Kui’s attack was clearly much stronger than Lei Gang’s usual thugs. He possessed entry-level internal strength—a junior martial artist.
Such skill would terrify ordinary people, but to Lin Le, it was far from enough.
After dodging the knife, Lin Le struck with his fist. With a resounding crack, Luo Kui’s jaw shattered, blood pouring out.
Luo Kui nearly lost consciousness. Roaring in rage, he twisted his knife and slashed again at Lin Le’s throat, clearly intent on killing him!
Lin Le moved swiftly, grabbing Luo Kui’s wrist. With a gentle squeeze, there was a sharp snap—Luo Kui’s wrist was deformed, and the knife fell to the ground.
“Aah!” Luo Kui cried out.
Lin Le was not about to let him go. He seized Luo Kui’s wrist with one hand, and with the other, punched his face mercilessly.
“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!” Seven or eight blows landed in succession. Luo Kui’s face was mangled and bloody, his mind lost, as he collapsed to the floor.
“What?” Lei Gang and the others could hardly believe it. Luo Kui was the top enforcer under Brother Xiong. Yet before Lin Le, he barely managed a single move—Lin Le’s strength was terrifying!
Lei Gang and his men dared not challenge Lin Le further. They turned to flee.
“Trying to run?!”
Lin Le’s expression hardened. In a flash, he moved like a gust of wind, instantly appearing before Lei Gang and his group.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
After several dull thuds, Lei Gang’s men all lay on the ground.
Only Lei Gang remained. He dropped to his knees in terror.
“B-brother…” Lei Gang began to plead, but Lin Le ignored him.
With a single punch, Lei Gang fell unconscious.
Lin Le returned to Luo Kui, whose face was bloodied as he looked weakly at Lin Le. “You—you dare touch me? Brother Xiong won’t let you get away with this!”
“Brother Xiong? I was just about to find him! Take me to him!” Lin Le replied.
This was the second time he’d heard Brother Xiong’s name. Lin Le knew that to solve the problem once and for all, he had to confront that man.
“What?” Luo Kui was incredulous.
“Kid, you’re taking on the entire Tianxiong Gang! You must have a death wish!” Luo Kui sneered.
“Say another word, and I’ll throw you into the fire myself!” Lin Le’s eyes were cold.
Luo Kui was the fiercest enforcer under Guan Tianxiong. But from Lin Le’s gaze, he could see he was not bluffing.
How could a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old boy have such a ruthless look in his eyes? Even Luo Kui felt a chill.
“All right, I’ll take you!” he agreed.
Over half an hour later, Lin Le brought Luo Kui to the entrance of the Night Banquet Nightclub.
The Night Banquet Nightclub was located downtown, the largest club in all of Haizhou.
Inside, the place was bustling, filled with young men and women reveling in the neon lights and music.
The club had five floors, each offering different entertainment, all fully equipped.
Dragging Luo Kui like a dead dog to the entrance, Lin Le drew the attention of the bouncers.
“K-Kui?!” one blurted out.
“Kill him! He’s here for Brother Xiong!” Luo Kui suddenly shouted, breaking free from Lin Le.
The bouncers immediately drew their weapons and charged at Lin Le.
Meanwhile, in the largest imperial suite on the fifth floor, a crowd of men were drinking and carousing.
They were all senior members of the Tianxiong Gang: branch leaders and top enforcers, gathered together.
Dozens of scantily clad women flirted and served them, pouring drinks and laughing.
At the center, a burly man built like a wild ox leaned back on a sofa, savoring a premium Cuban cigar.
This was the underworld boss of South Haizhou—Guan Tianxiong.
Guan Tianxiong had trained at Shaolin in his youth. Later, caught stealing advanced martial arts, he faced the loss of all his skills and fled Shaolin, eventually ending up in Haizhou.
“Brother Xiong, where the hell has Luo Kui gone tonight? Why isn’t he back yet?” asked a man named Fire Ox, himself a branch leader and top enforcer.
“Lei Gang said there’s a tough kid out at the Fourth Ring. I sent Luo Kui to handle it,” Guan Tianxiong replied indifferently.
“Damn, using a sledgehammer to kill a chicken. Luo Kui’s so ruthless, looks like there’ll be blood again! Hahaha…” Fire Ox laughed.
The others joined in, knowing Luo Kui’s mad approach meant someone would die.
“Who cares? Anyone causing trouble on my turf deserves a lesson from Kui!” Guan Tianxiong said angrily.
Recently, the northern boss, Wu Sanxing, had been stirring up trouble in South Haizhou’s underworld. Now even some brat dared to oppose him, so Guan Tianxiong was annoyed. He sent Luo Kui as a warning.
Just then, the suite door was kicked open.
“Damn it! Who dares barge in here?” Guan Tianxiong cursed.
Everyone looked and saw a figure collapsed on the floor.
“It’s—it’s Kui!”
Seeing the once fierce Luo Kui beaten so badly, everyone was stunned.
“Kui, what happened?” Guan Tianxiong asked.
“Brother Xiong, this time we hit a real tough one! That kid is about to break in!” Luo Kui cried.
“That kid? Which kid?” Guan Tianxiong was puzzled.
“The one you sent me to handle!”
Luo Kui didn’t even know his name.
None of them expected that the little nobody whose name they didn’t even know would cause such chaos.
“Damn it, he’s stirred up trouble on my turf. He must have a death wish! Fire Ox, you and the others go deal with him!” Guan Tianxiong ordered.
“Yes, Brother Xiong!”
Fire Ox and several other top enforcers charged out, ready for battle.
The others helped Luo Kui to a seat.
“Kui, how many men did that kid bring to dare challenge us here?” someone asked.
“What men? Damn it, he’s alone!” Luo Kui spat.
“What?!”
They had assumed Luo Kui lost because the other side had numbers, but it was just one person!
Even Guan Tianxiong was surprised.
He knew that anyone who could beat Luo Kui so soundly must be powerful.
Still, Guan Tianxiong was confident. This was Tianxiong Gang’s stronghold, with at least a hundred men. No matter how strong a seventeen-year-old could be, how much damage could he do?
And Guan Tianxiong was sure that with his current skills, few in Haizhou could match him.
Just as Guan Tianxiong was pondering this, a commotion erupted in the corridor outside. Everyone became alert.
“Bang!” The suite door was kicked open again. Fire Ox, panic-stricken, rushed in.
“Brother Xiong! Brother Xiong!” Before he could finish, there was a sharp crack—a wine bottle smashed onto his head from behind.
Blood streamed down Fire Ox’s forehead as he collapsed.
The crowd was stunned. A blood-soaked youth stood in the doorway, scanning the room coldly.
“Ah!” The hostesses shrieked and scrambled away from Lin Le.
Only Guan Tianxiong and seven or eight top enforcers remained.
“Which one is Guan Tianxiong?” Lin Le asked quietly.
Everyone instinctively looked at Brother Xiong.
Guan Tianxiong’s face was dark and fierce.
“So, you’ve come right to my door! Today, you won’t leave here alive! Kill him!” he roared.
At his command, the enforcers charged at Lin Le.
Lin Le kicked out, sending one thug flying through a window with a crash.
Without pausing, Lin Le grabbed a square table nearby. Though it weighed dozens of pounds, in his hands it was as light as paper. With a sweep, he smashed it down upon the enforcers.
