Chapter 073: Brother Lin Le Is a Bad Person
Before Lin Le could react, Xu Xi’er had already pinned him down with overwhelming force.
At this moment, her eyes were bloodshot, her entire being exuding a murderous aura—completely different from the seductive, fiery girl she had been just moments before.
Lin Le’s heart sank. Had his spiritual probe into her body just now accidentally triggered some hidden power?
“Xi’er, wake up!” Lin Le shouted.
But Xu Xi’er had lost all reason; his words could not reach her.
“Sorry, little one!” Lin Le said, and pressed his finger to the Fengfu acupoint at the nape of her neck.
According to ancient medical texts, the Fengfu point is where the six evils converge; stimulating it could clear these evils and restore clarity to the mind.
Lin Le wasn’t sure if this method would work on Xu Xi’er, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
Normally, a simple press wouldn’t have much effect—so, as his finger touched her Fengfu, Lin Le gathered a surge of true energy and channeled it directly into the point.
With a muffled thud, Xu Xi’er instantly went limp, like a puppet with its strings cut, collapsing powerlessly onto the bed.
“Brother Lin Le, I’m so cold… it hurts…” Though the madness had passed, her condition had not improved.
“Could you hold me?” she pleaded, looking utterly tormented.
“This…” Lin Le hesitated, but seeing her shivering in agony, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse.
At last, he lay beside her, gathered her gently into his arms, and pulled the thick blankets up over them.
At the same time, he circulated his true energy, channeling it into Xu Xi’er through their embrace, hoping to ease her suffering.
This healing wasn’t just a simple transfer of energy; it was an ancient technique known as the Ninefold True Essence Burn.
The Ninefold True Essence Burn was a profound medical art: one had to send true energy through nine critical acupoints on the patient’s body. Though effective for many ailments, few ever used it, for it required the healer to burn their own essence, searing with fiery energy to heal the other—a practice that bordered on self-destruction.
Such a method could severely damage the healer’s cultivation, and in extreme cases, even lead to a backlash that harmed the healer’s own body.
For this reason, even at the height of ancient medical arts, the technique was largely abandoned; no one would willingly harm themselves to save another.
Were it not for his inability to watch Xu Xi’er suffer, Lin Le would never have taken this path.
Fortunately, his efforts were rewarded. As he continued to burn his essence and infuse her with warmth, Xu Xi’er’s body temperature gradually rose, her trembling stilled, and a healthy flush returned to her cheeks.
She seemed to feel much better, curling up in Lin Le’s embrace like a little fawn and soon drifting into sleep.
But Lin Le was not nearly so comfortable.
The position—holding her from behind—was far too intimate. She was, after all, the campus beauty every boy dreamed of, and, crucially, she wasn’t wearing any clothes.
To lie motionless, cradling such a beauty in his arms, would test any man’s resolve.
Lin Le’s throat felt parched, his body tense and restless, yet he dared not let go, fearing her illness would return the moment he did.
And so, Lin Le held Xu Xi’er in his arms for well over an hour.
For a man, it was an agonizing and endless hour.
At last, Xu Xi’er opened her eyes.
They were clear now, no longer clouded as before.
“Brother Lin Le?” she asked, gazing at him with large, curious eyes.
It seemed she had no memory of what had just happened.
“How did you… ah!” Before she could finish, she realized something was amiss.
To her, it had been a simple nap—but waking to find Lin Le lying beside her, sharing the same pillow, was shocking enough. Then, noticing she was clad only in her underwear, her cheeks blushed crimson.
“Brother Lin Le, we…” she stammered, embarrassed.
“No, Xi’er, don’t misunderstand! I haven’t laid a finger on you. I was only treating your illness, that’s all,” he explained, feeling as if he’d been caught in a compromising act, awkwardness flooding him.
“Treating my illness? Then just now…” Xu Xi’er’s expression shifted, as if recalling something odd.
Clearly, she was well aware something unusual had happened to her body.
“Xi’er, your body was icy cold just now. What’s going on?” Lin Le asked.
“That’s… Brother Lin Le, it’s a secret. I promised my mother I wouldn’t tell anyone. Can you not ask?” She looked troubled.
“Alright,” he relented. “But if it happens again, come to me. I think I can help ease your pain, at least for a while.”
Seeing her reluctance, he didn’t press further.
“Really? You’re so kind, Brother Lin Le!” she said, her girlish energy restored as she threw her arms around him, pressing her soft curves against his chest.
“Um…” Lin Le was a bit flustered.
“Xi’er, there’s something I should probably mention…” he began.
“What is it?” she asked innocently.
“You’re… not wearing any clothes.”
“Ah!” she exclaimed, realizing she wore nothing but underwear. Her blush deepened, making her look even more adorable.
Under Lin Le’s sideways glance, she hurriedly slipped on a white cotton shirt. Just as she reached for her jeans, she caught Lin Le’s mischievous gaze.
“Brother Lin Le, no peeking!” she pouted.
“Peeking? There’s nothing left to see—I’ve already seen everything,” he replied, feigning indifference.
“Oh, you’re terrible!” she said, half shy, half scolding.
Lin Le leaned closer and whispered in her ear, telling her how she’d almost lost control earlier.
Though groggy at the time, she recalled the dreamlike state and some hazy fragments—enough to know he wasn’t lying.
“Then I won’t speak to you anymore. Brother Lin Le, you’re getting naughtier by the day!” she said, pouting in mock anger.
“Hey, don’t you feel any guilt saying that?” Lin Le joked, clutching his chest.
“If I were bad, you wouldn’t even be standing here talking to me—you’d… well…” He stopped before things got too explicit.
Of course, Xu Xi’er knew what he meant, biting her lip as her blush deepened.
“By the way, Brother Lin Le, how did you come to my house?” she asked, curious.
Now, clothed again, she was back to her pure, lively self.
Lin Le explained how he had found his way to her home.
When he finished, Xu Xi’er nodded.
“I’m so glad you came, or I would have suffered for days again,” she said, worry clouding her expression.
Lin Le was now almost certain that her mysterious illness was the reason she’d been absent without explanation before.
“Xi’er, remember—if it happens again, come to me immediately. Let me help you,” he urged, his tone serious.
“I will,” she promised, nodding obediently.
“And when your mother returns, discuss it with her. If you can tell me more, I might be able to help you solve it for good.”
With his cultivation and knowledge of ancient medicine, Lin Le was eager to help.
“My mother’s away for a couple of days, but I’ll speak to her when she’s back,” Xu Xi’er replied, clearly still hesitant.
“Alright, since you’re alright now, I’ll be going.” The sky outside had already darkened.
“You’re leaving?” she asked, a hint of reluctance in her voice.
“Well… if you don’t want me to go, I can stay,” he teased.
“Oh, you’re being naughty again!” she protested with a pout.
As she walked him to the door, Lin Le suddenly remembered something.
“Xi’er, do you… act like that every time your illness strikes?” he asked, clearly alluding to her earlier loss of control.
Xu Xi’er instantly understood, her cheeks flushing.
“Of course not. That’s never happened before… It’s all your fault!” she exclaimed suddenly.
“My fault?” Lin Le was baffled.
“Not talking to you anymore! Goodbye, Brother Lin Le!” With that, she shut the door, cheeks still red, before he could say another word.
