Inside the hospital room, Ning Xiyue lay there weakly, her eyes red-rimmed. As she watched Jiang Yu walk in, she choked out, "A-Yu, is our baby..."

Jiang Yu strode over to the bedside in two or three steps and took Ning Xiyue's hand.

"Yue'er, don't worry, the baby is fine."

"We still need to be more careful in the future and not be so willful."

Upon learning that the baby was still there, Ning Xiyue's expression stiffened slightly. She didn't look particularly happy; instead, there was a hint of disappointment, though she quickly masked the inappropriate emotion.

Her tears of joy were entirely faked.

She nestled against Jiang Yu's chest with practiced precision, her cascading hair concealing the expression on her face while her eyes flashed with gloom.

*Damn bastard, it's truly tenacious!*

However, an idea quickly formed in Ning Xiyue's mind. She intended to use Xu An'an's hands to get rid of this illicit, disgraceful spawn.

Suddenly recalling something, Ning Xiyue lowered her voice conspiratorially: "A-Yu, Master Yuanji is also in this hospital."

Jiang Yu understood what Ning Xiyue was implying, but he frowned.

"The hospital won't easily disclose a patient's information to me."

Ning Xiyue rolled her eyes internally, her voice turning gentle: "A-Yu, surely you know that this hospital belongs to the Second Master? That makes it practically part of the Jiang family. Are you telling me that the eldest legitimate grandson cannot even inquire about a patient's information?"

Upon learning that the private hospital belonged to his own uncle, Jiang Yu wasn't thrilled at all; instead, a trace of trepidation crept into his heart.

Weary from Ning Xiyue's persistent pestering, Jiang Yu ultimately obeyed.

When Xu An'an woke up, she found the room dim, illuminated only by a floor lamp shining in the distance. The man sitting on the sofa was typing away on a keyboard.

The keyboard was set to silent, making not the slightest sound.

Those long, articulated fingers were tapping rhythmically upon it.

"Awoken?"

Hearing movement, Jiang Liu raised his head unhurriedly. Half of his face was edged in gold by the lamplight, leaving one half blurred and the other sharply defined.

Xu An'an struggled to sit up.

She looked out through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The amusement park at night was still bustling with activity. At a glance, the giant Ferris wheel could be seen rotating, alongside the roller coaster plunging into the clouds, and the faint sounds of joyous screams seemed to drift over.

Inside the room, however, it was quiet and cozy.

"What is it?"

Thinking that Xu An'an was still haunted by the events of her childhood, Jiang Liu put down his laptop, walked over to sit beside her, and pulled her into his embrace, his voice gentle and warm: "Would you like to see a psychological counselor?"

Xu An'an leaned against Jiang Liu naturally, her entire body feeling limp and soft, still half-asleep.

She rubbed her belly. "I'm hungry."

Jiang Liu picked up the desk phone and called room service.

Xu An'an went into the bathroom to wash up.

In truth, she was evading Jiang Liu's suggestion, reluctant to see a psychological counselor because she had a vague premonition that there was still something else from that night that she had forgotten along with it.

She only vaguely remembered that the incident had implications for her mother's reputation.

Therefore, she preferred to keep those memories hazy.

While eating, Xu An'an finally remembered Hao-hao. "You haven't been staying here the whole time, have you? What about Hao-hao?"

"Assistant Wang will look after him. Besides, I'm not his father," Jiang Liu said offhandedly.

Xu An'an was slightly surprised. She had assumed Jiang Liu was quite fond of Hao-hao; otherwise, why would he have suggested bringing him to the amusement park?

"Where is Hao-hao's father?"

"They're divorced."

"Divorced?!"

"What? Do you care?" Jiang Liu raised his gaze and placed a piece of pork belly with the perfect ratio of fat to lean meat onto Xu An'an's plate.

Xu An'an shook her head, bit into the pork belly, and found the flavor to her liking. "She told me that day that she was married."

"If she didn't want to mention her divorce, why would she say she was married?"

"Isn't that strange?"

Jiang Liu raised an eyebrow noncommittally, having no interest in such matters. "After you finish eating, do you want to go back down for a while?"

Xu An'an nodded eagerly. She hadn't really gotten to play much today.

Since she finally had free time to play, she had to enjoy it to the fullest.

Glancing at the giant Ferris wheel outside the floor-to-ceiling window, Xu An'an unconsciously sped up her eating, which amused Jiang Liu.

After the meal, the two headed straight for the Ferris wheel.

Because Jiang Liu was a super VIP, they didn't have to wait in line, stepping right onto the Ferris wheel to the immense envy of those waiting.

There was no helping it—money simply talked.

As the Ferris wheel rose higher and higher, Xu An'an grew a bit nervous. She gripped the handrail, looking down at the brilliantly glittering nightscape of the city below.

However, as it climbed even higher, Xu An'an didn't dare look down anymore, her entire body tensing up.

Suddenly, Jiang Liu moved over to her side.

The slight swaying nearly made Xu An'an shriek, causing her to instinctively burrow into Jiang Liu's arms. "Why did you come over here?"

"I'm scared," Jiang Liu said, holding Xu An'an as the corners of his lips curved upward.

A warm palm covered Xu An'an's back, patting it soothingly a couple of times. She lifted her chin, meeting Jiang Liu's deep gaze.

In her mind, the legend of the Ferris wheel inexplicably surfaced.

*Lovers who ride the Ferris wheel together will ultimately end up breaking up, but if they kiss when the wheel reaches its highest point, the two will stay together forever.*

Gathering her courage, Xu An'an closed her eyes and took the initiative to kiss him.

The moment their lips touched, Jiang Liu's pupils trembled violently. Then, he seized the initiative, a large hand pressing against the back of Xu An'an's head as his nimble fingers threaded through her hair.

His other arm wrapped tightly around her slender waist, pulling her entirely into his embrace.

Her lips and the tip of her tongue were repeatedly nibbled upon, evoking a slight tingle. Xu An'an frowned slightly, but soon all that remained was a numbing sensation, her whole body turning weak.

It was rare for Xu An'an to take the initiative to demand a kiss, and Jiang Liu longed to devour her right then and there.

What a pity they were still on a Ferris wheel.

After the deep kiss, Jiang Liu was still reluctant to let go. Breathing heavily, he teased with a wicked smile, "Are you prepared to not be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning?"

Xu An'an wound up her fist and delivered a punch straight to Jiang Liu's chest.

"Watch your language!"

"What's wrong with my language? It's already past eleven. We still need to grab a midnight snack later, and by the time we finish eating, it'll probably be around three in the morning. With staying up this late, won't we have to sleep until noon to wake up?" Jiang Liu gasped dramatically, covering his chest with his hand. "Xu An'an, you ruffian, what on earth are you thinking?!"

Seeing Jiang Liu's affected, dramatic display, Xu An'an's lips twitched fiercely. *Trying to turn the tables on me, are you?!*

"Hmph, a wise woman doesn't fight when the odds are against her."

*Rin-rin-rin!*

It was Wen Hairou calling Jiang Liu.

After a moment's hesitation, Jiang Liu answered.

Since Xu An'an was still leaning against Jiang Liu, she naturally heard Wen Hairou's voice over the phone—exceptionally, exceedingly gentle. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was Jiang Liu's girlfriend.

"A-Li, Hao-hao just got home. Thank you for taking him to the amusement park today."

"He said he wants to invite you over to the house for dinner this weekend. He said his teacher taught him that courtesy demands reciprocity. You'll come, won't you?"
