Chapter Thirty: Upon the Warhorse
On the way to Dorro Town, the many items Han Shuo had been carrying were distributed among the other warhorses. Han Shuo sat behind Vannie, and with each jolt and sway, his body frequently brushed against hers. A faint, alluring fragrance drifted into his nose and mouth as Vannie’s dark hair fluttered in the wind.
Seated astride the warhorse, Vannie held her voluptuous waist straight and proud. Beneath her mage’s robe, the graceful curve of her back was fully exposed to Han Shuo’s gaze. With the horse galloping ahead, the distance between their bodies gradually diminished until Han Shuo’s abdomen pressed directly against Vannie’s full, rounded hips. The thin mage robe offered no resistance to the intimate sensation, and as his abdomen collided with her shapely rear, Han Shuo felt an uncontrollable surge of masculine desire.
When his body responded, Han Shuo was both amused and embarrassed, yet the feeling was beyond his control. His aroused state, intensified by the horse’s movement, continued to rub against the crevice of Vannie’s exquisite hips. The intense stimulation from their contact nearly made him cry out. Gazing at Vannie from behind, Han Shuo noticed a blush creeping up her pale neck, making her appear even more enticing.
Vannie was the object of Han Shuo’s fantasies, and in the prime of his youth, overflowing with untamed impulses, the stimulation was overwhelming, igniting a wildfire of desire in him. Unable to restrain himself, Han Shuo trembled and reached out, slowly placing his hands on Vannie’s soft waist, pulling her closer to deepen their intimate contact.
Sharp pain suddenly shot through the backs of his hands. Startled, Han Shuo looked up to see Vannie’s face, flushed with shame and anger, glaring at him with fierce eyes. Through gritted teeth, she growled, “Damn you, Bryan, control yourself or I’ll throw you off this horse.”
But then, Vannie noticed something was wrong. Han Shuo’s face was crimson, his body convulsed and shuddered, and he gasped for breath. After five seconds, Han Shuo froze, his body returning to normal except for his mouth, which still panted intermittently.
Vannie immediately felt something wet and slick in the groove of her hips.
“I… I’m sorry, Miss Vannie, I… I didn’t mean it!” Seeing Vannie on the verge of exploding, Han Shuo, having relieved himself, quickly apologized, his voice trembling with guilt. Yet inside, he savored the pleasure, far less fearful than he appeared.
Vannie was exasperated. She understood Han Shuo’s age and that their physical contact was indeed inappropriate, and his actions stemmed from instinct rather than intent. Yet, what Han Shuo had done was still a violation. Although nothing truly happened, as a woman, Vannie felt both angry and humiliated at being used this way.
As a high-ranking mage, if Vannie truly lost her temper, Han Shuo would stand no chance against her. He liked Vannie and genuinely feared she might lash out. Her current demeanor left him uncertain and anxious.
Lost in his thoughts, Han Shuo suddenly felt his inner thighs pinched fiercely, causing him to cry out in pain. Vannie’s voice hissed in his ear, “Damn you, Bryan, I’ll settle this with you later.”
“Miss Vannie, what happened? Bryan, why are you yelping?” Up ahead, Lisa turned to ask, hearing Han Shuo’s sharp cry.
“Nothing, he just lost his balance and made a fuss,” Vannie answered quickly, cutting Bryan off.
Silence fell again as the group pressed onward. Half an hour later, Han Shuo was surprised to find his arousal returning. When Vannie sensed it, she decisively slowed, reined in her horse at the rear, and demanded Han Shuo take the reins.
“Miss Vannie, I really didn’t mean it, and I don’t know how to ride,” Han Shuo protested, helplessly mounting the horse as Vannie urged him on.
“Shut up and listen to me. I’ll tell you how to control the horse,” she snapped. Now that their positions had changed, Han Shuo in front and Vannie behind, she had lost all patience with him, her tone harsh.
At first, with Vannie’s guidance, Han Shuo fumbled, and the horse bucked wildly, unable to find direction, galloping erratically. Amid the chaos, Vannie’s ample chest repeatedly collided with Han Shuo’s back, leaving him distracted and unable to focus on controlling the horse.
After a while and much shouting from Vannie, Han Shuo gradually learned to manage the horse. Vannie braced her hands on Han Shuo’s back to prevent further intimate contact, directing him toward Dorro Town.
By the time Han Shuo and Vannie arrived, dusk had fallen. At the street corner, Gene and a group of necromancer students waited anxiously.
As Han Shuo and Vannie appeared, Gene hurried over and asked, “Miss Vannie, why are you so late? I was worried something happened to you.”
“It’s nothing. Bryan wanted to try riding, so I taught him. We lost some time,” Vannie replied with a smile, her composure restored. “Good, everyone’s here. Gene, have you found the inn?”
“It’s ready. Once we stable the horses, we can rest. Tomorrow morning we’ll head for the Dark Forest.”
Vannie dismounted gracefully behind Han Shuo, appearing agile and strong. Stretching, she frowned. “I worked up a sweat. I need to bathe immediately. Bryan, once you’ve stored the horses, come to my room. I have something to say to you.”
“Yes, Miss Vannie,” Han Shuo replied, his face bitter. He knew she wanted to speak to him about his earlier transgression.
Watching Vannie hasten toward the inn, Han Shuo felt the stickiness below and understood her urgency. A wicked smile crept onto his lips.
Han Shuo and several necromancer students, led by Gene, stabled the six horses and followed him to the inn.
“Gene, Dorro Town is far from the empire, right on the edge of the Dark Forest. There are many strange shops here. While it’s not fully dark, could we go explore? We know the inn, so we’ll return soon. Is that okay?” Buck asked, and the others looked eager, as if they had some hidden purpose.
“No!” Gene refused firmly, then smiled strangely. “You think I don’t know what you’re after? Dorro Town is also called the Town of Decadence. Because of its unique situation, adventurers and merchants here constantly face danger, so they indulge in pleasure. The entertainment industry here is famous across the empire. Hmph, don’t even think about getting debauched.”
Sure enough, after Gene finished speaking, Han Shuo looked around and saw that the broad streets of Dorro Town, though not yet dark, were already ablaze with neon lights. At street corners, heavily made-up young women dressed provocatively blew kisses and whistled at passersby, their expressions inviting indulgence.
Gene’s words revealed their real intentions. The group, hearing his refusal, trudged toward the inn, complaining bitterly about his ruthlessness.
Inside the inn, the students found their rooms as Gene assigned them. He glanced at Han Shuo, smiled apologetically, and said, “Our budget is tight. We spent fifty gold on the horses, so to save a bit, you’re in the abandoned storeroom at the back left. No key, just walk straight.”
Afterward, Gene shrugged, smiled, and walked away. As he left, Han Shuo heard Gene’s low chuckle and muttering: “You, a lowly errand boy, riding a horse with my beautiful Vannie. Hmph.”
Han Shuo was no longer the person he once was; his senses were keen, and he caught every word and laugh. He snorted coldly, then grinned mischievously.
Just wait until I win Vannie over, then we’ll see who’s left heartbroken, he thought maliciously, heading straight for Vannie’s room.
