Chapter Forty-One: The Fierce Battle with the Venomous Serpent of the Deep Waters
Within the pool, the Deepwater Venom Python stirred up towering waves, surging forward with overwhelming momentum straight toward Lisa. The more panicked Lisa became, the harder it was for her to escape; the distance between her and the python had already shrunk to just over twenty meters.
Vanny, who had already reached the shore, disregarded everything as she splashed through the water, darting toward Lisa like a mermaid. Han Shuo was even faster; his movements in the water seemed entirely unhindered, and he closed in on Vanny with lightning speed.
After cultivating his demonic powers, Han Shuo’s physical capabilities far surpassed those of ordinary people. When he exerted himself fully, he burst forth with astonishing energy. As Vanny neared Lisa, Han Shuo arrived as well.
Without hesitation, Han Shuo extended both hands—one grabbing Lisa, the other wrapping around Vanny’s waist—and shouted, “Hurry!”
At this moment, Han Shuo had no time to savor the smooth, delicate bodies of Lisa and Vanny; panic left him with only the desire to leave as quickly as possible. His legs moved swiftly through the water like a fish, and with Vanny’s own efforts, the three tangled together, desperately swimming toward the shore.
Had Han Shuo been alone, he might truly have escaped the python’s pursuit. But with Vanny and Lisa weighing him down, his speed was greatly reduced; he could only watch helplessly as the Deepwater Venom Python drew ever closer.
Lisa’s cries and sobs never ceased, and even Vanny was powerless now, her face twisted in utter terror.
In the pool, summoning dark creatures would be useless, and the thick-skinned, third-tier Deepwater Venom Python was impervious to ordinary necromancy. If they paused to recite spells but failed to kill the python instantly, they would be caught and inevitably devoured.
“What do we do, what do we do? Is it going to eat us?” Lisa whimpered in panic, her hands slapping the water with increasing weakness.
Vanny was equally at a loss, staring as the python loomed within arm’s reach but finding no way to evade it, able only to swim for her life.
Han Shuo hesitated briefly, then steeled himself, determination flashing across his face. He gripped Lisa’s right hand, exerted all his strength, and hurled her from the water. Lisa’s bare, beautiful form shot through the air, arcing three meters toward the shore.
His left hand, which had been around Vanny’s waist, suddenly pressed against her shapely hips; before Vanny could cry out, Han Shuo pushed hard, propelling her like an arrow toward the shore.
“Go!” Han Shuo roared, then spun around to face the Deepwater Venom Python alone.
“Bryan, Teacher Vanny, hurry and save Bryan!” Lisa called desperately from afar.
“Lisa, get to shore quickly—only then can we help Bryan!” Vanny shouted.
At this moment, Han Shuo’s gaze was steely, his dagger gripped tight, as he watched the python’s tail curl toward him.
Unexpectedly, Han Shuo did not retreat but instead advanced. Before the python’s tail could ensnare him, he charged straight at its head.
Han Shuo knew that no matter how fast he swam in this pool, he could not outpace the python. Now that they were so close, fleeing was a dead end. The python’s skin was tough everywhere except for the soft flesh at its neck; if he wanted to survive, close combat was his only hope.
The Deepwater Venom Python seemed surprised that Han Shuo not only didn’t flee but attacked. Its enormous tail looped in a wide arc but failed to touch him.
Its dark green eyes flashed, as if mocking Han Shuo’s ignorance. From its gaping maw, dense with fangs, it spewed a cloud of dark green smoke straight at Han Shuo as it raised its neck high.
“Bryan, beware of the smoke—it’s a slow-acting paralytic poison! It will make your body stiff until you can’t move at all!” Vanny shouted from afar, warning Han Shuo of the python’s toxic breath.
Startled, Han Shuo held his breath and quickly dove beneath the water, using the clear pool to locate the python. He dashed forward, avoiding another sweep of its tail, and surfaced beneath its neck. He and his dagger erupted from the water, the blade gleaming silver under the moonlight, as he stabbed fiercely into the soft flesh of the python’s neck.
With a squelch, the dagger sunk to the hilt, blood spurting forth as the python let out a shrill, agonized scream. Its neck twisted and its massive body thrashed wildly.
Alarmed, Han Shuo quickly withdrew his dagger and pressed his right palm to the wound. The “Frostfire Demonic Flame” flashed scarlet and instantly seeped into the python’s neck.
Assailed by the “Frostfire Demonic Flame,” the python became even more frenzied, its screams unending. Before Han Shuo could react, a dark green smoke enveloped him.
Strange tendrils of gas entered Han Shuo’s body through his pores, and he suddenly felt numb, weak, as if even his dagger weighed a thousand pounds.
“Oh no, Bryan’s been hit by the poison smoke! Teacher Vanny, what should we do?” Lisa, now safely ashore, cried out, her voice urgent.
“Endless darkness, transform into destructive bone spears. With my will, annihilate all before me—Bone Spear!” Vanny’s voice intoned a spell, and three sharp bone spears manifested in midair, whistling toward the frenzied python.
Vanny’s bone spear magic was formidable; all three struck true. Two pierced the python’s forehead, blooming blood, while the third shattered several of its fangs as it tried to devour Han Shuo, causing its jaws to snap backward.
At that moment, Han Shuo’s magical energy surged rapidly through his body, erasing the numbness wherever it flowed. Once powerless, Han Shuo regained his strength. As the python reeled from Vanny’s attack, Han Shuo darted forward, stabbing twice with his dagger, then swam desperately for the shore.
The python’s anguished howl sent waves crashing across the pool. As it raised its head again, Vanny and Lisa saw its two dark green eyes streaming with thick blood.
“Bryan can still move—he blinded the python! Hahaha!” Lisa shrieked, her earlier panic transformed into excited cries.
But in its frenzy, the python’s massive tail lashed out, striking Han Shuo and sending him flying toward the shore.
Meanwhile, Vanny unleashed spell after spell, targeting the python’s wounded neck and eyes. Blinded, the python was unable to dodge, its neck, mouth, and eyes repeatedly struck by bone spears as waves roared ever larger—yet it was growing weaker.
In its madness, the python did not attempt to flee, but tried to approach the shore, seemingly intent on devouring its attackers. Yet as its injuries mounted, its fury grew pale and feeble.
At last, the Deepwater Venom Python collapsed, spent. Han Shuo’s body, flung into the water, slowly floated upward. His shirt was torn across his chest and abdomen, and his right cheek was bright red, evidently injured by the python’s tail.
Lisa, who had been shouting excitedly, and Vanny, who had been chanting spells, both cried out in alarm and, heedless of their exposed bodies, rushed into the pool.
They quickly dragged Han Shuo ashore, finding his belly swollen and water trickling from his lips, his cheeks puffed as if he had swallowed half the pool.
Vanny, versed in first aid, pressed her slender hands to Han Shuo’s chest and abdomen, repeatedly squeezing to force the water out. Lisa did the same, and together they managed to expel mouthful after mouthful of pool water.
“Why hasn’t Bryan woken up yet?” Lisa asked anxiously after a while, her face worried.
“He probably swallowed too much water and his throat is blocked. Why don’t you try giving him mouth-to-mouth?” Vanny suggested after a moment’s thought, looking at Lisa.
Lisa blushed and glanced at Vanny. “Teacher Vanny, I’m not sure how—maybe you should do it.”
Vanny hesitated, frowned, then steeled herself and said, “Bryan saved both our lives. Fine, I’ll try.”
With that, Vanny bent down, her delicate cheeks flushed with embarrassment, her fragrant lips moved toward Han Shuo.
In truth, Han Shuo had already regained consciousness, enduring until this very moment. His heart raced as he felt Vanny’s smooth arm pressed against his chest, delight flooding his mind.
A faint fragrance and a slippery touch filled Han Shuo’s senses. Vanny’s tongue slid into his mouth, parting his teeth, lips pressed tight as she began to breathe for him.
The exquisite sensation coursed through Han Shuo’s nerves; he felt the adventure had been well worth it and was in no hurry to wake, savoring the moment to the fullest.
After a breath, Vanny raised her head, paused, and prepared to continue—but then her bright eyes caught sight of a strange tent rising between Han Shuo’s legs.
She froze, and after a moment’s stunned silence, reacted with a high-pitched scream. Vanny’s hands clamped onto Han Shuo’s neck, shaking him furiously as she cursed, “Damn you, Bryan—I ought to kill you!”
