Chapter 112: A Storm Is Brewing
Wu Meitian glanced at Rambo and said, “Rambo, the boss you recognize truly is the Beast King! No wonder you’re like a little wild beast yourself.”
Rambo admired him with wholehearted respect. “The boss really is incredible! I’m completely convinced. This big guy is practically a destroyer—absolutely extraordinary.”
The Gun God was somewhat dissatisfied. “No matter how fierce a beast is, if I fire one shot, I can vaporize it instantly. What’s so great about that?” Although King Kong was indeed astonishingly powerful, the Gun God believed his “Magnetic Gun” could still reduce it to ash. After all, it was a divine weapon capable of piercing through battleships; there was no way these mutated beasts could have bodies stronger than warships.
However, he had forgotten one thing: no matter how formidable a weapon is, it only works if it hits the target. Despite King Kong’s massive frame, it moved with exceptional agility. If it weren’t for Le Kai’s mastery of the “Return Step Method,” allowing him perfect omnidirectional movement, it would have been impossible to strike King Kong.
Le Kai leapt onto King Kong’s shoulder and vigorously rubbed its furry head, feeling immensely joyful. King Kong smiled foolishly; though its red eyes appeared terrifying, Le Kai sensed its genuine happiness.
Thud, thud, thud!
King Kong strode forward. Though seemingly slow, it covered over a hundred meters in just a few steps. Watching this, the Gun God and the others shuddered, feeling the beast’s violent power up close. Even with the Gun God’s strong spiritual cultivation, he couldn’t help but experience a suffocating pressure, as if a colossal mountain were leaning toward him. The terrifying oppression made his legs weak, stirring an urge to flee. The other members were even worse—faces pale, legs trembling, barely able to stand.
Wu Meitian snorted disdainfully, clearly disappointed with their reactions. In truth, if not for Le Kai’s special care, she herself might have already been pinned down by the overwhelming pressure, even more helpless than the Gun God and the others.
It was evident the members on Gun God’s side also noticed this abnormality. Each silently cursed and vowed never to provoke Le Kai, this little demon king, again. This guy was clearly making a show of power and revenge!
Li Yan watched the enormous King Kong with curiosity, her eyes filled with a trace of longing. When King Kong saw Li Yan, it surprisingly revealed a hint of human-like gentleness and joy. It gently squatted down, nodding to Li Yan with its blood-red eyes. Amid Gun God’s astonishment, Li Yan shrank her protective aura to its smallest size and climbed onto King Kong’s shoulder, sitting comfortably beside Le Kai, one on each side. King Kong rose gently, its movements so soft they contrasted starkly with its previous ferocity, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
Rambo had wanted to experience the thrill as well, but there was no room left on King Kong, so he gave up.
“Tell these beasts to be alert, but don’t harm our own people,” Le Kai gently petted King Kong’s golden fur, looking every bit like a majestic king of beasts, exuding immense authority.
At that moment, as the mist dispersed, everyone saw the clearing ahead densely packed with fierce mutated beasts. They varied in form, but all had glowing red eyes. Their collective violent aura was earth-shattering, making direct gazes unbearable. Yet these more than a hundred beasts behaved like obedient kittens, following King Kong’s command.
King Kong roared at the herd, apparently communicating. Then, they witnessed a scene they would never forget: these ferocious beasts, usually savage and bloodthirsty, one by one respectfully prostrated themselves, seemingly paying homage to their king—Le Kai!
Le Kai chuckled, “Not bad. In just half a year, the team has grown this much. Looks like it won’t be long before we unify the entire wilderness.”
Li Yan laughed softly, “Le Kai, Sister Mei is right—you really are a born Beast King.”
Le Kai’s face darkened. “What do you mean, ‘Beast King’? That sounds terrible! King Kong is the real Beast King!”
The beasts came one by one, sniffing everyone wildly, then scattered in all directions.
“They’ve memorized your scents, so they won’t harm you,” Le Kai explained. “This area, spanning thousands of miles, is our territory. You can roam freely.”
Everyone was speechless. Roam freely? This desolate land barely had a tree, all barren and empty. What was there to enjoy? What they really wanted was fine wine and beautiful women, not endless hills of ash and gray. A few of them shed tears in despair.
Le Kai seemed to understand their feelings, winking and smiling. “You’re probably thinking this trip is a total bust, very boring, right? Don’t worry, I’m always good to my friends. I won’t let you be bored for long. Soon enough, you’ll realize this journey is actually very meaningful.”
With that, he ignored their gloom, and King Kong strode into the mist.

Inside the Xi Residence.
Xi Tianfeng’s hair stood on end with fury as he stared at the screen displaying Xi Tiande’s bloated, ugly figure running under the public’s gaze. He felt the entire Xi family’s dignity was being trampled into mud by those heavy footsteps. Roaring angrily, he shouted, “Send someone!”
The butler always maintained a calm, elegant demeanor, seemingly unaffected by the family head’s rage. He bowed gently and asked, “Master, you summoned me. What are your orders?”
Xi Tianfeng never hid his crudeness before the butler. He growled, “What about the task I assigned last time? I want that bastard dead!”
The butler replied, “There was a slight mishap with the Bloodthirsty Mercenary Squad’s mission, causing a delay, but it’s been resolved. They’ll return to the city soon. However, they’re demanding a higher price now.”
Xi Tiande frowned. “Those insatiable vampires, asking for more money again. How much?”
“One million Battle Wolf Coins.”
The butler spoke softly.
“One million Battle Wolf Coins? Why don’t they just rob it? Is that kid really worth that much? This is absurd!” Xi Tianfeng nearly burst a blood vessel from anger. At first, he said at most a hundred thousand Battle Wolf Coins, but now it had shot up tenfold. This was blatant extortion.
The butler explained, “Their squad leader, Sang Qing, said the target’s identity is now public. He’s become a celebrity. After killing him, they’ll face a series of troubles. If the Lan family finds out, the consequences will be endless. This price is reasonable. If you think it’s a loss, you can terminate the contract anytime. But they’ll leave Azure Star in the next few days and won’t return. Please consider carefully.”
Xi Tianfeng pondered deeply but couldn’t suppress his rage and hatred. Clenching his fists, he said, “Fine! But this matter must not be linked to the Xi family in any way!”
The butler bowed deeply. “Rest assured, master. The Bloodthirsty Mercenary Group is one of Li Chenxing’s largest mercenary teams, with a good reputation. Nothing unexpected will happen. Reliable sources say Le Kai’s group, along with the Blue Shark team, has already left the city government. The Blue Shark team’s two space shuttles are escorting them. Surely some big shot is among them. If an attack is launched and something goes wrong…”
The butler’s worry was evident.
Xi Tianfeng was shocked, then overwhelmed with envy and jealousy. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Looks like he’s close to the young lady. If he doesn’t die, won’t he become an even bigger obstacle for Bao’er? Didn’t you say the Bloodthirsty squad is the most professional mercenary team? They can’t handle such a small matter? Do they really think that million is easy money?”
One million Battle Wolf Coins was a huge sum!
The miserly finance director watched helplessly as such a large amount seemed about to vanish. He couldn’t help but feel pained. But compared to the damage and humiliation Le Kai brought to the Xi family, it was absolutely worth it.
A strange glint flashed in the butler’s eyes. He said solemnly, “Alright, I’ll immediately send their whereabouts to Sang Qing. They haven’t returned yet, so the plan can be executed. Their Blue Shark shuttle is the perfect target!”
Xi Tianfeng growled, “By whatever means, I want Le Kai dead! But absolutely no harm must come to the young lady. Otherwise, both the Xi family and the Bloodthirsty Mercenary Group are finished.”
“Rest assured, master. Even if you didn’t say it, they would be cautious. These wolves may be fierce, but they know how to survive. They won’t dig their own graves.”
Watching the butler leave, Xi Tianfeng frowned and fell into deep thought.

King Kong moved through the mist as if on solid ground, striding steadily. Le Kai and Li Yan, seated on its shoulders, hardly felt any jolting. Le Kai mused silently that this big guy used to stomp so violently when carrying him that it seemed as if it wanted to break the earth—like a wild roller coaster ride. Now, however, it felt almost vibration-free. This stark difference undoubtedly came from Li Yan.
Li Yan’s intelligent protective wristband completely isolated external scents, but she still sensed the rapid changes in the surroundings, feeling both novel and thrilling. Especially when King Kong began leaping and climbing mountains, its massive body seemed to pierce the sky, yet when it landed, it was as light as a feather, demonstrating exquisite control.
This guy had definitely done it on purpose before. On purpose!
Le Kai thought wordlessly.
Despite King Kong’s speed, it still took some time to reach the underground chamber. Seeing the unique subterranean room, Li Yan was extremely excited. The herb cultivation chamber was a stark contrast to the outside world. The air was fresh, filled with a blend of medicinal fragrances. Taking a breath was like savoring a delicious meal—intoxicating.
“Le Kai, this is your secret base. Truly extraordinary. These herbs must be the materials you use for alchemy!”
Le Kai was startled. “How did you know I practice alchemy?”
Li Yan blinked mischievously, a hint of playfulness in her expression. Proudly, she said, “Don’t forget, I scored 99 points on the test—a genius! Just one point below you. And that question was about alchemy! I’ve always been curious. Our clan has few books on the subject, and after studying them, I found they only scratch the surface. They couldn’t answer that test question. But you got a perfect 100. If you say you don’t know alchemy, wouldn’t that insult my intelligence?”
Le Kai suddenly understood. “I can’t believe I missed such a simple question. Seems you’re the smarter one. My first place was just a fluke.”
