Looking at the wicked smile on Lokai’s face, Lambo was clearly feeling uneasy. Yet the lure of beauty overcame everything, especially when Wu Meitian sent him an encouraging glance that proved more effective than a thousand words.

Lokai glanced at Wu Meitian, who was equally competitive, and said calmly, “If you drop Lambo right now, I’ll agree to tell you the secret you most want to know.”

Lambo laughed. “That’s a trick for three-year-olds. Sister Mei wouldn’t fall for that.”

Upon hearing this, the Wu siblings trembled in unison. This was undoubtedly the secret they were most eager to learn, one that concerned their entire lives—how could they remain composed? Wu Meitian, who had already resolved to ask Lokai about it, couldn’t help but shiver, and her beautiful eyes shone with longing.

“You… Are you telling the truth?”

Wu Meitian felt as though the voice didn’t belong to her, a slight tremor in her tone.

Sensing danger, Lambo hurriedly shouted, “Sister Mei, don’t believe him! He’s just tricking you!”

Lokai winked triumphantly. “Call it a trick if you want. Either way, there’s only one chance.”

Lambo’s pleading gaze was directed at Lokai, pitiful as a puppy, but Lokai ignored him completely, smiling as he watched Wu Meitian. “You know I always keep my word. If I say this is the last chance, then it is…”

“Fine, I’ll do as you say.”

Wu Meitian decisively shook off Lambo and walked straight to Lokai’s side. She gazed helplessly at the little devil before her, who was impervious to both kindness and force, biting her silver teeth and whispering, “Now you can tell me.”

In truth, exchanging such a simple demand for a secret that determined one’s entire future, anyone would agree. Yet Wu Meitian could not accept the reality: under her charm, the only young man unaffected was able to suppress her at every turn. She felt utterly defeated.

Lokai beckoned. “Lean down and listen.”

“You…”

“What? Do you want me to say it out loud? Besides, you’re so tall—if you don’t bend down, do you expect me to fetch a stool?” Lokai glared at Wu Meitian, completely unmoved by her peerless allure.

Wu Meitian was utterly out of patience. She never imagined that, as the Sorceress of the Alliance who swept through the martial world undefeated, she would stumble repeatedly before this youth. Could he be heaven’s answer to counter her?

Lambo was growing desperate, nearly spitting blood at the sight of this unbelievable scene.

“So that’s how it is… You’re not tricking me, are you?” Hearing some earth-shattering secret, Wu Meitian seemed lost, her shock making Wu Nitian and Lambo tense.

Lokai grinned mischievously and nodded. “Aside from that, there’s currently no cure.”

Wu Meitian bit her red lips fiercely, her seductive gaze flickering with oddity. After a moment, she withdrew her eyes and stamped her foot in coquettish frustration. “What kind of monster are you? Can’t you just let me win once?”

Lokai wiped his brow. “Sister, how can I let you? For those who cultivate, if someone invades their spirit and plants a seed, they’ll never be whole again—how can they reach the peak of martial arts?”

Lokai thought silently: Besides, if I let you, and you control my spirit, I’d be your consort forever—what’s the point of any struggle then?

Wu Nitian shot Wu Meitian a glare and admonished in a low voice, “Little Mei, don’t be unreasonable.”

He desperately wanted to know what method Lokai had imparted, but the matter was too sensitive. As her brother, he couldn’t bring himself to ask.

Lambo, clueless but sensing the gravity, watched the three play their cryptic game, his heart itching with curiosity. He approached Wu Meitian, concern in his voice. “Sister Mei, what’s going on? Are you alright? If there’s anything I can help with, I have some connections in Central City.”

“Get lost!”

His heartfelt concern was met with cold, decisive rejection. Lambo was stunned. Just moments ago, Sister Mei had clung to his arm with intimate affection—her gaze was sincere and genuine. How had everything changed in the blink of an eye? Did the Boss really possess some kind of magic…?

Lambo was sharp-minded. At once, he grasped the key point and turned to Lokai, tugging at his sleeve in a childlike plea. “Boss, my dearest Boss, have mercy on me and tell me what’s going on.”

Lokai replied coldly, “I’m not your boss. If you don’t want to help, go play somewhere else. Wu Nitian, Wu Meitian—let’s get to work. I refuse to believe we won’t succeed this time!”

Refuse to believe we won’t succeed this time…

Could it be that the Boss failed last time…?

Lambo shivered at the thought, catching Lokai’s cold stare. He dared not voice his suspicion and quickly plastered on a smile, ingratiating himself. “Boss, I never said I wouldn’t help! When Boss makes medicine, how can I not be involved? Many hands make light work—unity is strength! Whatever you need, I, Lambo, will do without hesitation!”

Lokai waved him off impatiently. “Go play somewhere else—don’t interfere with our real work.”

Lambo was nearly in tears. “Boss, please let me join. I promise, even if I have to tend the furnace for a whole day, I won’t complain.” Then, with a rogue smile, he added, “As long as I can work with Sister Mei, I’m full of energy and content.”

Lokai considered for a moment, then made up his mind. “Since you’re so eager, I’ll give you a chance—go tend the fire!”

“Thank you, Boss! Thank you, Boss! Boss, you’re wise and mighty—long live the Boss!”

Lambo was moved to tears and tried to hug Lokai in gratitude, only to be kicked away. He happily scampered off to prepare.

Watching the trio work with ten times the seriousness of their first attempt, Lokai shook his head and adopted a sage-like air, sighing, “My teacher’s wisdom on managing others truly never fails, mysterious and profound!”

Wu Nitian was brimming with joy. The more formidable Lokai proved to be, the greater their hope. As an adult, his mind was more mature, and he saw through Lokai’s tactics. Yet this was not a scheme in the shadows, but an open strategy, striking directly at everyone’s weak point, leaving them no choice but to comply.

Pure martial strength was rare, but wisdom alongside it made for a truly perfect savior. Yet he never imagined that the savior in his eyes, the stage he envisioned, was never meant to be here at all.

The four of them threw themselves into their work with renewed vigor. With the experience of the first attempt, everything went much smoother, especially for Lokai, who referenced materials and continually fused his knowledge into practice. His progress was so rapid that even a professor would have to nod in approval.

Finally, after an hour longer than the first attempt, the first batch of finished product—“Vitality Pills”—was ready.
