Chapter 108: The Great Yin-Yang Taiji
Chapter 108: The Great Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram
Episode 12: Transmitting the Way on Spirit Mountain, Obtaining the Marvelous Method, Soaring Ten Thousand Miles on Clouds Alone (Part 18)
Ye Hua was deeply hesitant, unable to decide. If he truly mastered this technique, his path to immortality cultivation would likely become fraught with difficulties.
But if he did not practice this method, the Azure Cold Pearl could not be refined. Without that, the Book of Heaven Theory would be impossible to cultivate. How could he face the two revered ancestors?
Lost in thought for a moment, Ye Hua felt helpless. With a slight wave of his left hand, a scroll floated midair—it was the very Book of Heaven Theory.
A flash of rosy light revealed dozens of articles one after another. Ye Hua focused, recalling that he had carefully browsed them the day before. There were many perplexing points that required detailed study and gradual understanding. For now, the present quandary had to be unraveled through these texts.
After several hours, upon reaching the ninth essay—the Discourse on the Eight Righteous Spirits—he read:
“When the heavenly qi is pure and tranquil, the will is governed. Following it, the yang qi is firm; though evil forces exist, they cannot cause harm. This accords with the order of time. Therefore, sages transmit spirit and cultivate heavenly qi to connect with divine clarity. If lost, the nine orifices close within, external muscles contract, and defensive qi scatters and dissolves—this is self-injury and depletion of qi...
Combining metal, wood, water, fire, earth, the four seasons, the eight winds, and the myriad changes without departing from their constants, shifting in transformation, one observes their subtlety and understands their essentials. To grasp the essentials, one must observe the colors and pulses. Colors correspond to the sun, pulses to the moon. Constantly seeking the essentials—that is the key...”
At this passage, Ye Hua furrowed his brow in confusion, unable to comprehend. After deep contemplation, a vague impression lingered as if veiled by a thin white gauze, never fully grasping the essence.
His gaze drifted afar, where a great river meandered serpentine. A faint enlightenment dawned as he watched it flow eastward, its broad waves merging with the distant azure sky. At this sight, clarity suddenly burst forth; he murmured:
“So it is! So it is! This Book of Heaven Theory is truly miraculous! The divine consciousness can be refined to such a degree—nourishing essence with spirit, thus perfecting spirit to reach qi, essence generating blood and circulation, connecting with the five seas of qi sea, blood sea, and consciousness sea in a way unlike others. It is indeed a novel path, a winding road leading to profound insights! Following this method, the fusion of divine consciousness will have no further hidden troubles!”
Relieved, Ye Hua exhaled deeply, his brow smoothing, a faint smile breaking through. Inwardly he resolved, “Since this is so, I shall cultivate according to this method! May it prove effective!”
---
After sitting in meditation for some time, carefully pondering the fusion technique once more, Ye Hua formed hand seals. The primal force within surged like boiling water. With a low shout, an image of his consciousness sea appeared before him again.
He focused on the Azure Cold Pearl at its center, flying swiftly toward it. When about a hundred paces away, the pearl suddenly radiated a brilliant cyan glow. His internal primal force reversed violently; his chest jolted sharply as he spat a bloodline imbued with the power of the Great Yin-Yang Five Elements, shooting fiercely toward the pearl.
The Azure Cold Pearl seemed to sense hostility. Its surface brightened, summoning nine flying dragons from the water. They circled slightly, then together sprayed a misty white radiance at the incoming bloodline.
Anticipating this, Ye Hua pressed seven acupoints on his body—the Shenque, Shuifen, Xiawan, Jianli, Zhongwan, Shangwan, and Juque. From each, a bloodline erupted. These seven points are called the Sea of Yin Vessels; the bloodlines unleashed a vast, chilling yin energy. The cold wind howled fiercely, swirling gently and merging with the initial bloodline to form a Taiji Yin-Yang diagram in blood-red brilliance.
The nine dragons’ white radiance struck the diagram like stones sinking into a vast sea—no ripples, no trace.
The Taiji diagram then slowly moved to cover the Azure Cold Pearl, rotating gradually and emitting four blood-colored beams. Before the pearl could respond, the nine dragons shattered into nothingness.
The four beams shone through the pearl, which moved slightly. Seeing this, Ye Hua’s heart leapt with joy. Now unable to dwell on anything else, he pressed more points—the Dazhui, Fengfu, Jugu, and Tianding—belonging to the Sea of Yang Vessels. From these points, pure yang bloodlines shot forth.
Once entering the blood Taiji diagram, it spun rapidly, emitting four more beams, completing an eight-array formation.
The array then enveloped the Azure Cold Pearl, trapping it within. Ye Hua exhaled slowly. According to the secret method, transforming his own five organs’ yin-yang five elements into this great Taiji diagram was halfway to completion. From now on, he had to use his primal force and essence blood to slowly refine the Azure Cold Pearl.
Ye Hua sat quietly in midair, eyes closed. His primal force surged, continuously infusing the distant Taiji diagram. The eight blood beams flickered, each emitting a red flame inward. The Azure Cold Pearl responded with various cyan divine techniques, but none could withstand the blood flames, which crackled as they scorched its surface.
Several hours passed before Ye Hua opened his eyes slightly. The pearl’s cyan hue had faded somewhat. Smiling faintly, he closed his eyes again to silently circulate primal force.
Unconsciously, two days and nights slipped by. Suddenly, a distant rumbling burst forth. Ye Hua snapped open his eyes. The Azure Cold Pearl was now nearly transparent, faintly tinged with blood red. The blood-colored Taiji rotating in the sky had also dimmed considerably.
---
Ye Hua was overjoyed, inwardly grateful his primal force far surpassed his peers, deep and abundant. Otherwise, he might have long since collapsed under the strain.
Knowing the critical moment had arrived, he dared not be careless. He focused his mind, speeding cultivation, fearing failure after such effort. Forming hand seals again, he pushed the blood Taiji outward. The blood light in midair thickened noticeably.
Half a day later, the Azure Cold Pearl was filled with blood color. A crackling sound came as several fissures appeared on its surface. Suddenly, with a sharp snap, it shattered. Then came a louder crackling as the Taiji diagram’s eight blood beams spun rapidly, grinding the fragments into powder that scattered and vanished.
Ye Hua slowly opened his eyes, staring at the now-empty consciousness sea. Only the true Taiji diagram turned overhead, signaling success. Yet strangely, he felt no joy—only indescribable fatigue, yearning for a large bed to collapse into deep sleep.
With a gesture, the Taiji diagram slowly rotated, transforming into a blood orb. At last, with a crisp sound, it dissolved into countless blood droplets, scattering into the consciousness sea and disappearing without a trace.
Ye Hua gradually withdrew his cultivation, exiting the consciousness sea. As his vision cleared, dizziness swept his mind. Sensing deeply, he realized his divine consciousness had multiplied manifold—calm, pure, and bearing a hint of icy crystal marrow energy. Indeed, fusing with the Azure Cold Pearl had greatly enhanced his divine power!
However, his internal primal force was nearly exhausted. He smiled bitterly, knowing that if he continued, he might not survive the strain. Rising to his feet, he faced the setting western sun, thinking:
“I have broken through the obstruction of the Azure Cold Pearl. Further cultivation of the Book of Heaven Theory should now proceed smoothly. I wonder how the Northern Dawn’s Six Divisions are faring? Have they already been dispatched to Cold City? Perhaps I should go see for myself.”
With that thought, Ye Hua pointed to the air. A black vortex slowly appeared. Mounting his sword, he soared through the portal. In an instant, his eyes brightened as the scene of the eighth earthly layer unfolded before him.
