Chapter 137: Blood-Red Moon Returns
Episode 14: The Nine Rivers Stir the Waves, Fish and Dragons Leap; The Six Sects Scatter Chaos; Immortals and Demons Run Wild (Part One)
As the sword light almost struck him, a sharp clang rang out. Suddenly, a golden flash burst forth, striking the sword light head-on. The sword light wavered, deflected to the side, and whistled past Ye Hua’s arm!
In the distance, the young man’s expression shifted. He shouted, “Who goes there!? How dare you spoil my good plans!”
“Surely this must be the young master of the Duan family! How unworthy! Such sneaky ambush tactics should be avoided!” A figure slowly ascended the stone platform—it was Qingque, who regarded the young man with a cold, mocking smile.
The young man was the same one who had fought Ye Hua at Jingji Manor. Seeing Qingque block Ye Hua’s way, he hesitated briefly, then snapped at Qingque, “The one on the stone pillar is the person we must capture! Hand him over if you know what’s good for you! We of the Northern Xi Six Sects are not to be trifled with!”
Qingque laughed aloud. “Haha, the Northern Xi Six Sects! Others may fear your Duan family, but we of the He Yi Gate’s Sage Path hold you in no regard whatsoever. Since it’s your Duan family’s quarry, I certainly won’t be handing him over!”
The Duan youth grew agitated. “Fine! Fine!” He paused, then called back, “Wang Yu, go handle this Sage Path ancestor!”
Behind him, a burly man stepped forward, bowing his head. “Young master, please calm your anger! If this Sage Path fellow is so ungrateful, I will deal with him myself!”
He strode forward heavily, the ground seeming to shake with each step, thudding loudly. When he was a few yards from the stone platform, he caught his breath and said to Qingque atop the platform, “Are you Qingque? I’ve heard your name for a long time. Seeing you today, you’re really nothing special! Heh heh!”
Qingque nodded coldly, sneering, “Wang Yu! You are the Wang Yu who serves under the Dragon King Shizhen of Northern Xi? Why have you allied yourself with the Tiger of Northern Xi, the Duan family? Such loyalty you show!”
The burly man laughed heartily. “I’m surprised you recognize my lowly name! Indeed, I am Wang Yu, under the Northern Xi Dragon King! The three heroes of Northern Xi have always been united. Don’t try to sow discord, haha!” He glanced around and clicked his tongue. “I didn’t expect this Sage Path sect to be hidden beside the Azure Dragon Pool! Haha, and with Li Qizhuang and Ling Zhuangzi’s villages nearby to cover it up, it’s truly hard to find!”
Qingque’s voice turned cold. “Fellow Daoist, you didn’t come here just to chat, did you?”
Wang Yu laughed again. “Right, right! Not just chatting, haha!” Suddenly, his right fist struck downward, emitting a yellow light shooting into the ground! His left hand slammed the earth with a muffled boom. The ground cracked open instantly, huge fissures snaking toward the sacrificial altar!
Seeing such blatant disrespect aimed at the altar, Qingque’s anger flared. He moved swiftly beneath the stone platform, inhaled deeply, and with his right index and middle fingers formed a sword seal. A dazzling red light flashed and condensed into a crescent-shaped demon-red moon that spun outward!
In a flash, it vanished from sight. Everyone felt a sudden tremor beneath their feet, followed by a muffled sound. The demon-red crescent moon burst from the earth, spinning swiftly toward the burly man, dispelling the fissures and dark energy he had unleashed!

The burly man’s expression darkened slightly as the crescent moon approached. He called out, “Blood-Red Moon! You’re a remnant of the Red Moon Cult!” Quickly, he retreated to evade the strike, clearly wary of the Blood-Red Moon!
Qingque stood beneath the platform, smiling coldly. “Lord Wang has keen insight!” He drew back his hands, and the Blood-Red Moon reversed its spin, hovering before him without pursuing the enemy.
From a distance, the burly man stood hesitating, watching the Blood-Red Moon’s flickering red glow. He seemed uncertain whether to attack. Qingque merely chuckled coldly.
“Wang Yu, what’s wrong? With your cultivation, are you really afraid of that Blood-Red Moon?” a sharp voice called out. Without turning, the burly man recognized it as the Duan youth’s voice. Smiling wryly, he replied, “Master, it’s not that I fear him. It’s just that the Blood-Red Moon is a tough opponent! I’m at a crucial stage in my Six Yang Pure Skill cultivation. A major battle here would be more trouble than it’s worth...”
“Hmph!” The Duan youth snorted coldly. “If your cultivation is at a critical point, then go into seclusion and refine it! Isn’t that better? Why come with me again?”
Wang Yu smiled obediently, stepping back a few paces without further words. Though the young master was clearly angry, he was helpless against him. The youth glanced aside and saw Xu Tieshan locked in fierce combat with Zhao Sanduo in the distance. The half sky was bathed in colorful light and thunder rumbled in great peals—an awe-inspiring spectacle!
After watching a while, knowing neither would soon gain the upper hand, the youth turned back to the sacrificial altar. The trapped boy below was quietly contemplating. “Hmph! Let you survive a little longer by luck! Today, I will shatter your soul and send you to a nameless death!” Cold light flashed in the youth’s eyes as he muttered under his breath.
He pondered briefly, then turned to speak quietly with a group of tall, blue-eyed, high-nosed, red-brown-haired cultivators. Their faces changed in unison as they glanced toward the altar, flames of wrath igniting in their eyes.
Their leader whispered a few words to the Duan youth, who nodded. The Western cultivators exchanged looks, and their leader slowly advanced toward the altar.
Seeing someone approach, Qingque frowned and shouted sharply, “You Western sorcerer! Stop right there!”
The Western cultivator halted stiffly. “I want the one on the stone platform!”
Qingque was momentarily stunned, then laughed harshly. “You want him? What are you?”
“I’m no mere thing. I am Horton Du! I seek revenge against him!”
Qingque nodded and smiled coldly. “You’re no mere thing indeed.” He then turned to look at Ye Hua atop the altar, thinking, “How did this kid make so many enemies? Could the Blood Black Six Curse be connected to these Western cultivators?”
The Western cultivator waited a moment, but Qingque remained silent. Growing impatient, he shouted, “Well? If you won’t hand him over, I’ll take him by force!” With that, he roared like a thunderclap!
Qingque’s heart jolted, realizing, “This newcomer is a Third Level True Realm cultivator—formidable indeed!” Scanning the scene, he counted three Third Level True Realm practitioners nearby: the burly Wang Yu, Xu Tieshan, and this man.
“If Wang Yu and the Western cultivator join forces to attack me, I won’t be able to hold them off. Better to let them have this brat. But... that would utterly ruin the Sage Path’s reputation! People would say the Northern Xi Six Sects, the Tiger of Northern Xi, barely lifted a finger before stealing someone from us. What face would I have among the many patriarchs of He Yi Gate?”
From afar, the Duan youth muttered quietly. The Western cultivator suddenly roared again, shifting into several black smoke forms that rushed to surround Qingque!

Qingque knew there was no time to hesitate. He flicked his hand, and the swirling Blood-Red Moon blazed intensely, splitting into several beams of red light that charged at the encroaching black smoke! The smoke seemed wary of the red light’s potency and suddenly dispersed, vanishing into thin air!
Qingque flickered up onto the stone platform and shouted sharply. He thrust both hands into the air, and the space above the altar rippled. Black light shimmered, revealing a human figure—the Western cultivator. Seeing Qingque’s claws reach for him, he laughed. “Your eyes are quite sharp!” Then he lunged with both hands, claws extended, refusing to yield an inch!
Qingque’s eyes flickered. The man’s hands were as black as iron. Before their claws met, a chilling aura emanated from the Western cultivator’s claws, causing Qingque’s skin to ache. Surprised, Qingque thought, “Such sinister ghost energy—better not clash directly.” He immediately flipped his claws upward like lightning, striking at his opponent’s pulse points. The Western cultivator was caught off guard; one of his elbows was struck precisely!
Qingque’s heart leapt. “My Blood Phoenix Claw, born from the Six-Winged Blood Phoenix, is immensely powerful. Those struck are either killed or severely wounded. This will teach you a lesson!” He unleashed his strength. His sleeves tore to shreds, revealing bulging, sinewy arms glowing with a dark crimson light. His ten fingers grew thick and sharp, with dark red talons stabbing into the Western cultivator’s arms!
The Western cultivator remained calm, but his arms trembled. Suddenly, his limbs burst into roaring purple flames, transforming into two blazing fire arms. Before Qingque’s claws could penetrate, the flames coiled around, searing his talons. Qingque felt intense burning pain. Looking closer, he saw his blood-red claws had been blackened by the fierce fire!
Anger and shock filled Qingque’s heart. The purple flames snaked upward. He shouted angrily and retreated several yards. The Western cultivator, seeing his adversary withdraw, showed no desire to continue fighting. Spinning around, he lunged at Ye Hua trapped on the altar. With a push of his hands, his fiery arms burst forth as two roaring dragons of flame!
Though Ye Hua knew the Western cultivator was coming for him, he had been watching the fierce battle between Qingque and the other man. He had even hoped Qingque would prevail. But just as he thought this, the situation suddenly reversed. Qingque was driven back, and the Western cultivator surged forward. His flaming arms transformed into fire dragons striking at Ye Hua. Alarmed, Ye Hua was about to shout when a blood-red crescent moon flew swiftly to him, spinning urgently and releasing a misty glow that enveloped him!

A heavy “thud” echoed softly. Though not loud, it shook everyone’s hearts deeply, clouding their spirits and senses. Some nearly faltered, their faces turning pale with shock. Looking up, they saw a small bronze tripod floating in the air. It had two upright ears slightly tilted, a round base with beast’s paw feet, adorned with mountains, rivers, sun, moon, gods, and ghosts in dark green bronze. Strangely, faint murmurs of incantations seemed to emanate from it…

The young girl was exquisitely smooth, her tender skin radiant, her feet as white as frost, with a full and delicate figure, her toes perfectly aligned and slender, as if spring could snap her green stems. Everyone’s hearts stirred unexpectedly; they had never seen such a flawless beauty—graceful, alluring, and tender to the bone. Yet the girl seemed unaware of the effect she had, sitting up and casting a coquettish smile with her starry eyes at the crowd, lazily waving her white arm…
